Summer Clearout

Goodbye:

Chambers
Lynch
Perch
Tyson
McGoldrick
Adebola

Some of you have done well for us....others not so well. Unfortunately none of you are anywhere near good enough for the Premiership. We might as well say thanks and goodbye now.

New signings needed. Mr Doughty I hope you were watching that performance tonight:

1 top quality Left back
Centre back cover
Right back cover (to replace chambers/perch)
1 Winger (to replace Tyson)
Sign Boyd, or somebody better in the same position
Combative Midfielder (McKenna should be 2nd choice next season...legs have gone)
1 top quality striker (not a human battering ram like Adebola....it doesn't work)
Please also give Joe Garner a chance. He's better than McGoldrick.

I wouldn't really look to move anyone on but Adebola, who I would ideally like to keep around, yet at this age he will want to play football we probably won't be able to offer him.

I think that may be a little harsh on a couple of those players.

We should keep Chambers coz he's not as bad as everybody makes out and he is obviously good morale to the team, everybody seems to love him and get along great.

As for Tyson he just needs to work on his tactis and awereness, I am sure if he works hard over the summer on those things he could become a top quality winger because it's hard to find anybody who can stop him and he does have pretty good cross too.

as for the others I don't know, I think Perch is not so bad, but mainly keep him as cover for the midfield. Lynch i don't rate and apparently he's pretty thick but he has such a good cross on him, probably the best in this team but it just isn't enough. Adebola just doesn't do it for me, he was really good but he's past it. And as for McGoldrick, I like him and i want him to do well but everytime he gets on the pitch he just misses every opportunity he gets, it's such a shame.

as for the signings you are quite right with most of them, although it might be asking for a bit much. Idealy a top quality LB, and also top quality winger and CB backup are the 3main areas. the others we can do for now, i think Guy Moussi can step in for McKenna... he's shown glimpses of real quality at times and is still young and learning.

These are obviously just my opinions, and you might totally disagree with them. I have not been able to go to many games but I have seen the highlights to every single one online :)

Tyson and Adebola can go.

The rest can do a job as backup if and when necessary.

Players to come in; Shorey, Pratley, Boyd to start would be nice.

Sort it out man most of them players in your list are definately worthy of being in the squad

Chambers - Has done a job when asked. Proved that he can provide cover when needed this season imo
Lynch - On and off injuries havent helped his growth this season but looked ok against s****hrope. Only young and could become decent cover at CB or even first team in a few years.
Perch - The man everyone loves to hate/blame. Yeh he makes mistakes but i can think of players that make a lot more who are worshipped like gods. Has been played out of position a fair bit as well.
Tyson - not one of my favourite players if I am honest but thought he had a decent game.
McGoldrick - scored some vital goals this season. Works hard and runs after every ball. With time can definately grow into a good player
Adebola - donkey

I'll even hire the JCB to remove Adebola..

Chambers

Would have been a better option tonight. Scores goals, plays his heart out, decent cover for three out of four defensive positions.

Lynch

Let's wait and see. Cover for Kelv/Wes according to Billy.

Perch

Makes up the numbers at worst.

Tyson

In the right game he's the right man. Would have maybe done more than Dex up front tonight.

McGoldrick

Needs development, plenty of raw talent.

Adebola

Did more in ten minutes to unsettle Blackpool, with his maturity and epic physicality than Dex did over two ties. We've no-one else like that and every club needs one such player.

And the thing is with this lot, haven't they all got a season left on their contracts? Let them use it to bolster our ranks, unless a good offer comes in over the summer for any of them, which it probably won't. After which time any that are too old or made insufficient impression leave with our best wishes.

Anyone know what his contract situation is? (not that contracts mean sweet FA these days, but you live in hope...)

same here. he's been very consistent, hard worker on the pitch and in training (apparently) and has really looked a class above the rest of the team at times.
Seriously hope he stays with us, at least for next season anyway.

As much as I love Tyson, he has been awful in these two games and has, quite unusually for him, not looked up for them at all. Anyway, if he's not going to play as a forward, he's not a wide player so either keep him as back up forward or don't play him.

At the very least we need a quality LB, a quality wide player and another hard working McKenna/Cohen type (preferably one who gets away with fouling constantly and trying to pull Raddy's leg off like Keith Southern).

I'd like to see a team next season of

Camp

Gunter Wilson Wes NEW LB

Anderson McKenna Cohen NEW WINGER

Blackstock Earnshaw

Chambers as back up for RB/CB
Perch as back up for CM
Moussi to swap with McKenna
McCleary to interchange with Ando/LW
McGoldrick as a FORWARD
Garner as a FORWARD

We have good players and despite his moaning, it is BILLY who is putting the round pegs in square holes.

Mcgoldrick. A sap on the wages in my eyes, sell him to a league 1 club, if we have to use him next year we have done something seriously wrong in the summer.

Perch, its unfair to play him at left back as he will not ever be a left back, let him move on and develop in one of his natural positions.

Respect to everybody's views on here. But my post is not just a rash reaction to tonight, it reflects what I've been thinking for about 10-15 games now. I would urge the board/manager to think hard about what we need in this squad. It's not good enough to say 'he's well liked' or 'he brings experience'. I want players with experience who are well liked AND good at football. None of the players on my list would ever make it in the Premiership. That is the criteria by which they must now be judged.....and my verdict is they are not good enough.

On the bright side, none of these players are terrible. And my list of clearout candidates is shorter than after any of the last 5-6 seasons. Clearly the club is making progress but this has to continue.

Mcgoldrick could still come good. He looks a good footballer, but doesn't get himself into games enough. Let's hope he's going to do a Wilson.

You say these players aren't good enough for the Prem, well that hardly matters does it...

We spent £1mil on mcGoldrick, hes 21, hes not going anywhere. Hes never going to be a big goal scorer but anyone that knows anything about football should be able to see he has ability, he jsut needs time.

Chambers? What the f*** are you tlaking about? Every time hes been put in the side he's been great, and he should have played tonight.

Perch, Tyson and Adebola can go for me aslong as they are replaced. Tyson has been completley found out in this league and he's never going to get a chance upfront cause he can't finish. I dont mind Perch and Dele but they are very replaceable players.

Or we could keep the whole team together and add more players and be a stronger team next season?

Im glad youre not the manager if your wanting to sell our squad, then having no back-up, are you Mr. Benitez ?

adam09

Premiership quality will demand Premiership wages. We very nearly have a squad capable of making the Premiership and a team who has competed with Premiership teams in the cup games.

We just need a few quality additions.

People like McGoldrick have barely had a chance and when they do, it's hardly in the right position... yet Billy still bangs on about his pegs despite being the one who plays them out of position.

This talk of getting rid of Chambers is harsh and nonsense.

Name me a better centre half, on modest wages, who will be willing to be a reserve for Forest? He's not good enough for first choice, but he's a capable deputy, committed to the cause and is unlikely to kick off about being second choice. A good team needs players like him and it's no coincidence that a good back up of capable subs like Smith, Chambers and MGugan has seen this team rocket to the top. Last season players like these were first choice and we being challenged by no one more useful than Adam Newbold, hence we were poor.

Chairman said on the radio he will be looking to maybe 3 to 4 good quality players coming in and no more he doesn't want a squad full of average players.

It's who stops is the most important thing for me.
