Summer 26 Transfer Window

They have so much headroom though through the stadium and commercial stuff as they bring in around 55m from events at their ground and their revenues are around 600m - they can spend 200-250m and not breach the new SCR rules with room to spare - they are in a great position to splash out to be honest
Laughable that non-football generated revenue is considered. IMO that is completely incongruous with fairness of competition.

I think the intent of FFP/PSR/SCR may come from the right place but the irony is that the new rules will widen the gap between clubs like Spurs and Forest. Spurs can legitimately increase spending because they have built enormous off-pitch revenue streams. Forest haven’t got that and we bring in around a third of spurs revenue. Not sure what the answer is really, as the intent is to stop oil states pumping money in and buying titles but whatever they do results in unfair advantages for bigger clubs

For me getting money from external sources like Saudi is a genuine iniquity but I just don't think you can call it unfair if a club happens to be placed in a more advantageous position in a huge city and makes the most of the opportunities it allows.

It's like a club like Preston or Rotherham saying it's unfair that Nottingham is a bigger city - to use a well known phrase. it is what it is. The only way to have genuine "level playing fields" would be to have a spending cap and wage cap which is just a fantasy.

You can absolutely limit non-football revenue, however. Everyone in the Prem gets a set amount of prize money and on top of that you have the variability of football revenue (gameday revenue, ticket sales, revenue from kits and merchandise, European competitions, etc) - which already provides larger clubs with an advantage. To then allow revenue streams like concert revenue or hotel sales, etc is simply not right, IMO. Limiting how much of that (say a max of 20 million pounds or something, you can easily find a reasonable number) would then tighten the competitive balance.

It's an excellent point

When he had Palace absolutely ripping everyone a new one at the end of his first season he had Eze, Olise and Mateta upfront.

MGW can do the Eze role, need a decent CF, would love Mateta here and a top quality winger.

Obviously someone to replace Anderson and one or 2 others.

That is behind the Daily Fail paywall, do people really subscribe to that?

A well timed stop button when the page is loading may or may not give you full access to the article.

Only major surprise there was the suggestion that the club think OG will improve Williams, Murillo, MGW and Jesus into proper star players.

The rules arent designed to encourage fairness of competition, they're designed to ensure financially responsible ownership (or keep the status quo big teams in place, depending if you like a conspiracy theory).
‘Designed to’ is doing a hell of a lot of heavy lifting in that mate.
