Galatasaray have reached an agreement in principle with Napoli over loan deal for Victor Osimhen! One year loan, salary covered as Napoli have accepted these conditions.Gala’s delegation to meet with Osimhen in Napoli in next hours for final green light to the move.

Much as I enjoyed watching Gala, I can’t help but think that’s a backwards step for him.

Most coveted striker in the world about two years ago now ends up playing in a league with a all but retired Jonjo Shelvey.

Not sure which out of those two have had a bigger and quicker fall from grace there.

I’m not sure exactly what has gone on but I know he fell out with them.

But the Turkish league is such a shit move for him, I’m almost depressed for him. I know he is gonna be on big money still relative to the rest of us but he could have joined pretty much any European club and won stuff. If you are gonna end up in Turkey you might as well go to Saudi and make mental money.

They are covering his 160k pw contract by the looks of it. Saudis offered him 600k+ pw apparently. Napoli’s tried to squeeze a bigger fee out of the Saudis, almost feels like they hung him out to dry in the end….

Greed all around I’d suggest.

Just read that Ivan T has gone from earning £40,000 a week to £400,000 a week

Genuinely surprised he was on only £40,000 a week

No one in their right mind would turn that amount down - even if it was for one season - I think everyone would do it

And that's tax free - he'd have to be paid over £800,000 a week to get that net in the UK! It's obscene frankly.

I read he signed his contract before promotion. Basically since he moved around the lower leagues, he has not earned the millions and millions, his peers have earned

Forest are magic on and off the pitch!

I know it's easy to slate players but until that contact is put in front of you then you don't really know what you'd do.

I'd say no

I cant stand the guy

But he deserved to be paid as much if not more than most of the players he has played with

Hi goal record is pretty good especially below premiership

Whilst £40k a week isn't the sums some players are on it's still £1m a year tax post tax so nothing to be sniffed at.

Whether to take £400k a week Saudi money probably depends on the family situation. If I were young & single I'd probably do it, if I've got to move a family over there and there's pretty much nothing for them then perhaps not. Maybe do it for one year at end of career but certainly not a long term thing.

My last line was tongue cheek. I agree though, until someone throws a massively lucrative contract in front of you like that you then you honestly can't say you would turn it down

If someone offered me 400k a week tax free I'd probably just buy a new family to be honest.

I can totally understand the mid level players taking it more than the absolute elite ones. The elite ones earn amazing money and also have the opportunity to create a legacy and win things.

Toney is a good player, probably a bit overhyped but at best could have probably gone to a spurs type club. He isn’t going to win much, nobody will remember him particularly in 15 years time. So I can totally understand why he’d take this sort of elite money. It truly is mental.

I also wonder how much he was pushed into the move by Brentford anyway. They were desperate to sell and not lose him for nothing and there seems to have been little interest in any club buying him over the summer.
