Sorry - was reminded of that song when I think of some of the Millwall neanderthals coming from our ground. Anyone notice how few of 'em were wearing their team colours? Pathetic. However, lots of Hackett and Gant on show. I digress.
What I really wanted to do was post another 'reasons to be cheerful' type thread. Looking around our fans, many of us probably have little in common ........... EXCEPT this thing called Nottingham Forest and I was proud to be part of it!
1. At last, we seem to be starting to gel. Showing spirit. Refusing to lie down.
2. Some of the players we were starting to get concerned about won the fans back. eg McKenna, Tys. (Chambers didn't have a bad game either!). Just when I was thinking Wes and Wils were not up to the job, after a torrid early few mins at the hand (and head) of Morisey, they started to play. No they aren't always the best in the air but would any replacements be better on the ground at this level?
3. Our fans are starting to show passion again.
4. Derby got less than 26,000! Even their so-called fans seemed to have refused the free tickets!
5. Derby were so dire (one feeble shot from fatty, I think), that it is rumoured that a team of dustbins could have beaten them. It seems that the Blunts could have had 6. People seem to admire Direby for their restraint in the transfer market and for selling their 'striker'. Sadly, this policy seems to be ready to bite them on the arse. As we know, once you start a run, you can feel the hot stench of relegation in no time.
So ............ keep the faith and keep on cheering the lads - I think they'll respond. BTW, I really refuse to believe Billy has given up on promotion. More mind-games!

I noticed that, when I walked past the back of the bridgford end I don't think I saw a single Millwall shirt, just a load of fat skinheads milling around. It was the same when you looked at the away end, At one point when someone was down injured I tried to count the number of shirts from my seat at the back of the trent end. Obviously I was a very long way away but I couldn't see more than 10-20.
 
In fairness not wearing a replica shirt to a game doesn't make you any less of a fan, Ive not worn one for years to a match however take your point about Millwall fans, if saturday is anything to go by they do still appear to fit their stereotype LOL. I hear some of them had a pop at the Globe while the game was going on

I noticed on the highlights how few colours were being worn by them. I guess though, its more to be able to get into pubs pre and post game. I doubt many pubs will let in someone in a Millwall shirt.
 
I barely saw any on Saturday. The group of 'fans' trying to cause a bit of trouble in the Meadows before the game unsurprisingly were wearing normal clothes.
 
I never wear colours away from home (or rarely at home to be honest). On away trips it's much easier to drift about and get into any pub you fancy. Also if being in colours increases your chances of trouble by 1% it's not worth it in my opinion. To be fair to Millwall fans on saturday though they made a fair bit of noise and it egged Forest fans on and created a good atmosphere.
 
They don't seem to have bothered travelling in numbers to Forest for a fair few seasons now, so surprised to hear of even minor reports of bother (if you can call it that).
