Stop Conceding Penalties!

I did a little research into how many penalties we conceded and how many points we could of had if we'd not conceded in the league last season..

Swansea 3 - 1 FOREST (conceded: 1, extra points: 0)
FOREST 1 - 2 Burnley (conceded: 1, extra points: 1)
FOREST 1 - 1 Ipswich (conceded: 1, extra points: 2)
FOREST 0 - 1 Cardiff (conceded: 1, extra points: 1)
Derby 1 - 1 FOREST (conceded: 1, extra points: N/A - They missed)
FOREST 1 - 3 Derby (conceded: 1, extra points: 0)
Barnsley 1 - 1 FOREST (conceded: 1, extra points: N/A - They missed)

So if we'd not of conceded any penalties in the league last season we would of had 4 extra points which would of put us 15th in the league instead of 19th..

Lets hope we don't concede so many next season because what if we finish 7th!

We need to start winning more pens. We only had 2 last year (1 in the league), Cardiff had about 14.

Earnie mentioned this in an interview, saying he'd have had so many more goals.

We need to start getting a more players in the box at once, giving people like Anderson, Tyson and Earnie balls to run onto which would be more likely to draw a foul than if they are getting balls into feet.

Anderson could well get us some next year if we can make him cut inside onto a through ball more often. This will always draw a rash challenge from an over stretched defender who can't deal with the pace.

I take your point on this but what about goal saving tackles that we might not have put in if were afraid to concede a few penalties? This isn't a stat that can be measured but the examples you quoted only cost us four. Some of those may have prevented a goal anyway, you should want to give away as few as possible but have to be prepared to put in challanges and take the risk.

Yeah but how many of those penalties were, not to put too fine a point on it, utterly shit awards by refs who appeared to have a bias on the day, rather than ones we conceded?

Most of them, if truth be told...

D'you know what I've worked out?

If we stop conceding goals we wouldn't lose!
