according to a poster on Vital, the Steve of Grimbsby who runs a forum and is 'in the know' and was on MaTCHtALK last night runs this Forum

Is this the case?

Yeh I remember him as Jags from Grimsby on the old Century phone in with Fletch and Birtles. I miss that phone in and personally preferred it to Radio Nottinghams. I used to go on it regularly myself.

I remember there used to be some bloke that phoned the Century phone in almost every day it was on and they gave his opinion loads of air time even though he never went to a match.

Plus Birtles was an arse, Burch was an idiot and Davies (Roger) always sound like a condescending smug bastard (Derby were doing better than Forest at the time). Its something when the most sensible contribution came from Burnsey.

I really like the Radio Nottingham one, Chippers and Frey are legends.

Yeah its better but unfortunately I can't get Radio Nottingham where I live and I can't be arsed to crank up the laptop to listen to it online too often. I could get Radio Nottingham OK in the west midlands but since moving to derbyshire its gets stamped on by radio sheep which almost has the same frequency. Big ********.

Weird, I get Radio Nottingham fine in D*rby. Its my fookin' lifeline :)

Same here! That, and I make sure than I have Trent FM tuned in, and not Ram FM. Even though they're pretty much the same station, I don't want the word Ram appearing on my radio screen.

I can get it great in my car on the driveway:(

Problem is I live near Burton and I get Radios Derby and Leicester with stronger signal than Nottingham and its hard to tune in even with a digital tuner. I could get it OK in the conservatory too but that went tits up at Christmas. God knows :confused:

I used to enjoy listening to that phone-in too and was even an avid listener back in the days when it was just Larry Lloyd. In terms of listening figures, it used to beat Radio Nottingham's Matchtalk hands down. Yes, it could get heated at times but that was part of what made it interesting. Football fans get wound up easily and this reflected just how passionate we can be.

I listen to Matchtalk on my way home now as there's no alternative but I have to say, it does seem to be much better than it used to be.
