There comes a point when Coops has to take a job. Once you get beyond the 18-24 months it becomes increasingly difficult and improbable of landing a PL job and even a top championship job.

He's technically got a job. He's employed by UEFA as a technical observer.

I think if you take another managerial role in the cooling off period you don't get the full payout after being let go. Think Potter rode out similar.

I have this strange feeling that Coops will end up as Wrexhams next manager if Parkinson starts to look out of his depth at Championship level. They certainly have ambition and won't be able to use the same tactic which has got them promoted (i.e. bring in players who are 1 or 2 levels above their current status), so might opt for the strategy which got Forest promoted. I think he also might be from Wrexham.

Yeah he’s from that area. I think he was a Wrexham youth player.

I've been saying that for a bit. Would be a great project for him

He lives in Wrexham lives near my mate and sees him jogging from time to time. So coops will be all over that.

I know Forest got a mention on Welcome to Wrexham right at the beginning. They were looking at us for an example of a team that came from nowhere to get into the Premier League, which to my mind is closer to reality than the 'sleeping giant' stuff you sometimes hear about Forest.

They probably have looked at Cooper already I would have thought.

Nah. Not even close IMO. Wrexham have NEVER been in the top division. They’ve only even had four seasons in the second! Best finish there of 15th as well. Bournemouth would be a better comparison.

They have played in Europe in eight different seasons though... 🤪

Yes, I agree

Great fit for him, Parkinson has always faltered in the Championship, he's much like Cotterill. They'll get rid of him at the first bump in the road as they'll want to maintain the momentum.

Suppose it'd depend on how much money Wrexham have to spend. Cooper's next move will be a very important one for his career and I don't think it'd be wise for him to go to Wrexham purely for sentimental reasons. If they are going to finance a promotion push it could be a very good move though.

I think Wrexham are going to have a tough one this season.
For the first time since the takeover, they are just going to be another team in amongst the rest, nothing special.
How will their fans adjust? And their owners?

They'll have a other season of Netflix but the success of that has been built on the fairytale, which has been remarkable in fairness but once that becomes mundane midtable (if they're lucky) it will fizzle out and the American interest will fade and that's when it's going to become difficult.

This is where the Hollywood duo are going to have to pump in their own multi millions.
