Pound for pound he's the number 1 in my opinion. Sels distribution is OK but Ortega is different level, Sels biggest downfall is not commanding his area, stays glued to his line every single time which you can see puts the shits up the defence.
Not sure why GK should be different to any other position, he put in a MOTM performance in his last game so for me he keeps the shirt today. Interesting to see what VP does
I will continue to bang this drum...
He was excellent last night, some very good saves when needed, but there was a pass through the lines to Anderson I think that was sublime and something that Sels just doesn't have in his locker (not down on Sels just think this guy is better)
IMO I would like the club shove a new contract under his nose and tell him he's the No.1 for next season

IF we get to the final, I guess Ortega has to play. He's certainly earnt it. Still would kind of feel harsh on Sels though given everything he's done for Forest over the last two years, to miss the biggest game of his time here.

Sels pulled off a world class save last week

The fact is both are class, I certainly wouldn’t be forcing Sels out the club nor would I be picking holes in either game because those holes are so small.

Winning this competition & being in the Champions league is the only way both stay.

Both are better than a whole host of keepers at Premier League clubs. City clearly have had some great keepers over recent years, but we’re very fortunate to have benefited from their surplus this year. I’d love to see Ortega at the club and signed onto a Forest contract for several years to come. Interesting that both Sels (34) and Ortega (33) are playing at their top of their game in the twilight of their careers, to our benefit.

Yep, both are a fantastic pair of hands between the sticks. They've both got faults but as you say you're picking holes and demanding a world class keeper at that point. We're not in world class keeper territory yet and those minor faults are the difference between them being world class and just below that bracket.

Love them both, very happy with both and hope we've had some discussions with Ortega.

If we do get into the CL, there will be plenty of games to share between 2 keepers. Hope we can come to some arrangement. If not there is a decision to be made, which one to keep and who to get in. We've tried our luck with Brazilians and they have been found wanting.

It'd be like Ron Greenwood not being able to decide between Shilton & Clemence so letting them take it in turns

this was a rare bit of business we did well in January. I'd be having kittens every game especially as Sels has had the odd niggle.

He was frankly brilliant last night, kept his goal well, distributed the ball excellently and marshalled his back four.

I mean, I love Matz, but Stefan won't make me worry about the Forest goalkeeper.

If (big if) we get to the final and win it with Ortega in goal, does Sels miss out on a medal?

Amazing game yesterday. We are very fortunate to have both available at this point in the season. If we can afford and convince Ortega to stay, then it should be done. Perhaps a 2 year deal and a promise that it will only be him vs Sels (i.e. no younger contender to replace them earlier) is what it takes? That will keep both on their toes and we will be guaranteed a solid no. 1 for the overseeable future.

I think it depends what style of football we go for next season. If we continue with perhaps Wood/big man up top and at times look to go a little longer etc then we keep Sels. If we looking to dominate ball, drawing the press then passing through it lines etc then we need to go for Ortega or similar. I was so impressed with how we played that first half against Liverpool and most of it came from Ortega’s distribution-it was brilliant. Sels has been outstanding for us but if we are looking to evolve then Ortega/similar style keeper for me.

He's been super, and whilst Sels is clearly #1, it's been great to have the backup
