In fairness to him, this guy isn't a referee. He drove Spur's coach up here and they gave him some kit so he could fill in time until they have to go back.

He just seemed out of his depth. No decisions that really affected the outcome, but he totally missed a couple of late ones on Hutchinson and Anderson that we've all seen given as yellows, and he just wasn't consistent with what was and wasn't a foul. Inept rather than corrupt I'd say.

He really was shit.
There were a couple of instances, end of 1st half, where a spurs player is going to be late in a challenge, the ref ACTIVELY TURNED AWAY and then basically indicated that he couldn't give a foul and necessary card against a spurs player because he didn't see it.
It's not that he didn't see it, he turned away from the tackle in order to not see it.

Barrott has always been an absolute shit ref. That was one of the worst ref displays without getting a major decision wrong. Impressive how bad he was at times.
He is another referee that has been fast tracked by the FA up the divisions, he only spent a season in the Championship before he was promoted to ref in the Prem. He should be going back down based on that. He must have got 10 easy decisions wrong in the 1st half alone. It's amazing we made it so comfortable to be honest.

He was crap today...But it's worth remembering that we have only won more PL games with Tim Robinson & Peter Bankes holding the whistle. I won't be complaining if he is appointed for Fulham away!

I was disgusted with his inept performance, it really did look like he didn’t know the laws properly. The two handed push on Hutch was a definite penalty, some say it would be soft, but he literally pushed him over, just because he’s a lightweight doesn’t excuse it from being a foul. Fortunately it didn’t hurt us in the end, but no thanks to him and he should be dropped to the lower leagues if that’s all he can manage.

serious question - what do Ref's do at half time? do they watch replays of the 1st half? do they have someone from PGMOL debrief them on 1st half good and bad calls? ..or do they just sit and chat

I don't think it was a penalty. It's a contact sport and Hutchinson flopped like a sack of potatoes. I'd be fuming if it was given against us.
But that was probably the only decision he got right...

I’m erring on the side of incompetence rather than corruption. I’m never persuaded that there are people behind the scenes fixing things in favour of the richer clubs.
Most importantly, we won with ease and while he made a lot of bad decisions, nothing led to game changing moments. It’s not like Boly being sent off for a clean tackle (second yellow), the Liverpool drop-ball fiasco from which Nunez then went and scored.
