• All - you probably don't need to be told, but....
Despite the Admins' best efforts some spammers/scammers/scalpers are getting through the entry system and are, astonishingly, in possession of FA Cup tickets that they, astonishingly, don't want!

It's probably a scam, and either way it's a criminal offence under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, (as amended by the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006) to offer or expose tickets for sale.

Please DO NOT engage with these people - please REPORT any threads/posts offering tickets for sale in case we've not caught them.
    Thanks!

Standard of Referees

The biggest mistake they made time-wasting recently was letting the referee ignore it because it will be added on to the injury time. This doesn't do anything about it. I saw a clip of Mark Clattenburg the other day moaning about this, he was saying refs hate it because all the players know how to 'play the system' in terms of what they can get away with. His idea would be considered extreme, but it would 100% be a deterrent to the teams, and that is to reverse the decision, so if a team is taking ages over a throw-in, it goes to the other team instead. If a goalkeeper takes an age over a goal kick, then it's a corner. It would be anarchy on the pitch for a few weeks but players would soon get the message.
Throw ins, I totally agree, turn over to the other team.

Goal kick, turnover for a corner.

Corner, turnover for a GK.

Goal keeper with ball in play, turnover indirect FK where the keeper was stood.

FK in field of play, turn over and indirect FK.

That would sort the buggers out and it's simple.

It’s not simple though unless it’s transparent and timed. Teams perceived to be the underdog will be forced to be constantly be on the hurry up, while your Liverpools and Arsenals and Man Uniteds will get to take their sweet time over everything. As is already the case.

It is simple.

Timing an incident is subjective in itself, such as when to start or stop the timer.

In reality, no rules need changing irt this, just apply the current ones and use the approved and appropriate punishment.

I agree. The Laws of the Game don't really exist these days. They are liable to change by IFAB on a whim or simply just allowed to fade away as decided by the refs and simply forgotten by the rule makers.

Then we get some laughable rule introduced whereby the Law is updated in a great show of busyness by the same rule breakers.

The whole system is nuts. Lets get back to simplicity and applying the Laws of the Game. Like, for instance, if you are on the field of play you are influencing the game, full stop. If you are offside, you are offside.

You are wasted on here VP, you should be running the Premier League!

Have we won a game yet with this mob?

Referee: Craig Pawson.
Assistants: Tim Wood, Craig Taylor.
Fourth official: Anthony Backhouse.
Video Assistant Referee: John Brooks.
Assistant VAR: Akil Howson.

Germany‘s top official, Dr. Felix Brych, will retire at the end of this season, at the age of 50, after officiating over 350 matches in his career.

Dr. Brych, whose Doctorate is in Sports Law, will then be at a bit of a loose end. Maybe Howard Webb should give him a call and offer him a job?

John Brooks from Leicester. Mmmm, right.
He's from Melton Mowbray & you would have a bigger argument for him being on our side considering we have won 3, drawn 3 & lost 1 under him.

He also appears to be a descendent of King John according to his wikipedia page who was a big Forest fan so he comes from a Forest family.

Excellent idea aside from the fact that Webb always knows best and knows that whatever his refs say is the correct decision and there’s no point changing anything as it’s exactly as he wants it.

Should have booked at least 3 Everton players early doors and how VAR didn't do Branthwaite for flattening Silva who knows.

Oh - and he's ANOTHER clown who doesn't know the drop-ball law.

Thought it was random as f*** today. Soft fouls given, obvious ones not. We got away with a few fouls but he let them get off with a lot of general thuggery as is standard against Everton.

Kicking the ball away doesn't seem to be an offence any more and Tarkowski was constantly in the refs ear, wherever he was on the pitch.

I'm more annoyed Murillo didn't just grab their player when he lost the ball. Exactly what they did 4 or 5 times to stop us countering whenever we had the chance.

Seemed to take an age to restart play. A couple of nothing free kicks in the middle of the park and it seemed to take about 2 mins to get going again.

Absolutely shite. Failed to produce cards when he should. Had he done so (Doucoure first few mins on Anderson and Branthwaite on Jota) then both would have been sent off.

Absolutely shite ref again, zero consistency.

I agree with the general sentiments that Pawson was incompetent today.
Mind you, his incompetence is consistent in every match I seen him ref.
Football will implode unless the reffing standards can be improved significantly.
It's not Just Pawson, though, is it?
Everton's Tarkowski should have been suspended for the cynical and dangerous foul/violent conduct when he damn near broke Darwin Nunez leg las time out.
Everton are a nasty, dirty side.
However, for all of that, Forest wouldn't have won even if St Michael of Oliver in his pomp was reffing, so poor were we.

Some poor decisions on yellow cards not being given in the first half but it sort of evened out when Yates got away with one in the box late on that could've easily been given as a pen.

I thought it was but on replay, as Yates goes to challenge the guy has his foot 6 foot in the air so probably why it wasn't given. Plus it came from a free kick which was yet another Everton dive anyway.

That was my thinking too as to why it wasn't given on the pitch and there wasn't enough to overturn it. It was one of those I think where if he'd given it VAR would've just left it as a pen.

I couldn't believe that hack on Anderson by Harrison in the first five minutes wasn't given as a yellow. I mean how blatant d'you need it to be? It would have been given in any other match this weekend.
