We have £35.65 million to spend.

It may be increased if that's not enough to buy Lee Camp.

Nigel Doughty has decided to continue with his policy of telling everyone how much he wants to spend, so that he can be ripped off.

Unfortunately Doughty's money is all tied up in the Zimbabwean Stock Exchange, but as soon as that revives, it's Premier League here we come!

I heard we were getting £20 million for every goal scored in the Leeds match.

So the real question here is, does anybody know the Leeds score?

Can we set up a sweepstake to see how long after the transfer window it is before some muppet has a go at the board/Mark Arthur for lying to us about the £20m and that we were never going to spend that much despite the fact they're now going on about all the people we can buy.

Even though this was all a story in a national tabloid and not a very good one at that. (Sorry Capello.)

Reading the papers, it does seem like there will be a substantial amount of money available to Billy Davies over the summer. If you look at some of the rumours going round (I know they are only rumours at this stage but do sound likely to happen) we will be signing:

Camp and Blackstock for a combined 2.5m
Rob Jones for 1m
Chris Gunter 2m
Joel Lynch 300k?
Lee Croft - Fee depending on the compensation we are forced to pay which is likely to be in the region of 300k
Paul Anderson 400k as reported on Swansea website
Gary McSheffrey 1m
Evans 2m
McGoldrick 500k
Possibly some more that we do not know of yet.

Obviously, the chances are we will probably only sign one of Croft/Anderson and Evans/McGoldrick but I imagine this list to be fairly accurate. If it is, I reckon our total spending will amount to something in the region of 9 or 10 million, which is outstanding for a Championship club. However, :yippeeee:

That's the problem it's all paper talk.

We do want strikers Billy has been quoted as saying that but other than that we nor the papers have any clue what our transfer moves might be.

Which papers have linked us with so many players?

We normally get about 8 words per week outside of match reviews, which are generally about 15 words.

The Mirror - Evans, Camp, Gunter, Croft, Blackstock

Evening Post (yes I know!) - Camp, Gunter, Croft, Jones, Lynch, Evans, McGoldrick, Blackstock

Davies said he would like to sign McSheffrey.

We have £116.20 to spend which will mostly be spent wrapping Earnshaw in cotton wool until the new season.

The other £35 will be spant on a clause in his contract ! Every season he scores more than 10 goals, the club buy him a new lawnmower !

That seems fairly realistic to me and if they all do go through I can see at least a mid-table finish (which I would be delighted with!)

Only just seen that when quoted in the last post, £400k for Anderson? Bargain! That is only the papers they but I think up to £1m is his value in reality and that's the very most I'd want to pay for him.
