Just a few things.

Congrats on your win today against Newcastle, a goal by former saints man Blackstock aswell ;)

But since the start of the season i've been catching Notts Forest highlights on MOTD and have to ask about a player named Paul Anderson? I think he's a LM/LW for you or something but he looks incredible... everytime ive seen a Forest game this season he's been massively involved and has BLISTERING pace.... so...

1. Where the hell did you find that guy
2. Is he rated as highly by you Forest fans as he is by me?
3. Has he always been that good?

1: Liverpool, Swansea had him on loan for a season, we had him on loan last season and bought him for about 250k in the summer
2: Yes.
3: Yes, he was amazing at Swansea and his loan capture was another underrated Calderwood/Acquisitions panel find.

Ando has scored some cracking efforts, has at least five seconds of 'Ronaldo Power-Up' mode per game and can play on either flank. He's got pace and control to burn.

In return, I'd love to know how to get the best out of McGoldrick, including perhaps the odd goal. So would Billy Davies.

We got him for 250k from Liverpool after a year long loan deal.

Yes he's amazing!

He keeps improving but has always being quite good...when on loan with Swansea 2 years ago in L1 he impressed and then he joined us and ws good enough to earn a move...we were shocked by how little we had to pay ;D

Thanks ;D

Yeah we love him here. Like you say his pace is blistering and he has learnt how to bring others into play as well now. He is a class act and brilliant to hear other fans giving one our players some much deserved praise!

Was at Liverpool - not sure if he ever made the first team
2. Is he rated as highly by you Forest fans as he is by me?
Oh yes. Was on loan here last year and just about everyone was pleased to see him sign during the summer.3. Has he always been that good?
Yes. There's some impresive stat about the amount of games we won last season when he was playing, but I can't remember that.

He's not as quick as Tyson, though.

My mate Gareth who supports the Liverpool I see once every fortnight or so. Since the day we signed Ando I've apologised for the transfer each and every meeting. Only polite, really. They were totally robbed, he's got to be worth at least 2.5 million in today's money and ought to make Forest's opponents of 2012/13 shit their pants in anticipation, as he's one of our list of 'just getting into their stride' players:

Anderson
McGoldrick
Majewski
McGugan
Garner
Lynch
Gunter
Thornhill
Moloney

When those lot grow up a bit, run away.

Thanks for such quick and good replies guys!

When it comes to McGoldrick he has good and bad days really... when he was with us he would often get caught offside alot(sometimes looked like his mind was elsewhere) and he also had a problem with staying fit.... problem was even when he wasn't fit he got a game because we were desperate. That said.. when he is fit and when he is dedicated to the team he plays very very well and can score goals for fun aswell as alot of scrappy goals and toe-pokes which is what every team needs.

I think you paid 900k for him from us? I'd say you got a pretty good deal and we got rid of a player who didn't want to be here, although he would have been immense in L1 for us im sure.

You'll get goals from him im sure of that! Whoever is in charge of transfers at Forest knows how to pick up a bargain... 250k for that Anderson fella aswell? Very good deals.

Marshall.

Greetings, SouthamptonFan!

Anderson's another of those loan players that Billy Davies has managed to attract for an absolute bargain price.

He was outrageously good last season until he broke his wrist/arm against D***y in the cup - then on his return picked up where he left off...

In the close-season, when deals were done, it was announced that Forest had bought Anderson and Chris Gunter (RB) for £250,000 and £1.25m. To be honest, if you'd asked most fans who was worth which, the answer would've been £1.25m for Anderson. A quarter mill was an absolute steal.

It's been many years since I've seen a player of the pace and crossing ability of Anderson - seriously - and I was around at the tail end of the career of one John Robertson....

First half today was a case in point, and THAT take-down, above shoulder-height, on the touch-line....if that had been Chelsea, Arsenal or Manure, you'd ben seeing it every twenty minutes with an orgasm warning....

Yeah unless I'm very much mistaken, the sublime skill where Ando brought the ball down on the touchline was missed on the "extended" highlights on the bbc show. If I remember correctly he even had a shot at the finish of the move. ****in disgrace by the beeb if i'm right

I think Swansea went back in for him in the close season after his loan deal with us had expired in the summer.

Even though they were offering more money he chose to come back to us - think it had quite alot to do with his family beeing fairly local him wanting to be closer to them

As to your other questions - as above. £250k from Livershite and I think the sun shines out his arse!

Welcome to the forum. Hope you stick around, we have quite a few fans from other teams but if you do please try not to call us notts

It's Baggio

John Robertson
He's still a bit inconsistent, like most wingers I suppose and at times his brain does seem to freeze when he's faced with the final pass/cross/shot but he's improving all the time and he can be quite devastating when he runs with the ball.

Il ignore the "Notts".

Can't add much really other than to say Ando is awesome and also on the last day of last season I thought your fans were fab. Very loud and passionate for a team already down, and very friendly before and after the match. Sincerely hope your back soon, although im still gutted I never got to go to the Dell. That stadium looked awesome on TV!

Lol my sincerest apologies on the "notts" blunder, i guess you can tell up until recently i haven't really known anything about the club then eh?

So it's Nott'm... I think i can drill that into my head for future posts!

Yeah The Dell was a fantastic stadium, although alot of players(e.g. Giggsy's biography) have said how much they hated playing there because the pitch was always in a pretty bad state. Infact moving out of The Dell into St Marys is majorly to blame for how far weve fallen to be honest of course Rupert Lowe as chairman didn't help.

As someone once said 'When has anyone named Rupert known anything about football' but there you go.. those days are over now the Swiss Billionaire took over hopefully we can start climbing up out of L1, we're off of our -10 and finally second from bottom instead of bottom(theres a sentence i never thought i'd say.)

I'll probably stick around, i wanna keep tabs on Anderson as a player to look out for, he's only 21 so he's got plenty of time to become even better than he currently is.(Based on the limited times ive seen him)

My dad went to a evening at which he was at recently in Melton Mowbray and he was told by Paul and his step dad that the reason he choose Forest over the other clubs was not due to his family being close to home but that he would have "moved to Japan" if he had felt that it would help progress his carrer further and develop him more as a player and person.

Stuart Pearce
That's the "official" line but i'm sure the unofficial reason has to do with his girlfriend being from nottingham and he wants to be close to her.

Welcome to the forum Southamptonfan

I like Southampton - and hope you survive League 1 and get back into the Championship pretty swiftly.

Us Forest fans know what its like to be lower in the leagues than you really feel you should be, those years in League One still make me feel bitter..!

To be fair Swansea's bid was only officially revealed to be 6 figure so we have no way of knowing whether it was 100,000 or 900,000.

Either way he's a steal at 125k!

You are right - I've been trying to find a picture of Rupert the Bear with a football as a wind-up but there are none.

I did find this though, on the same search:

football%20student%20trainers.JPG

And felt it would be a shame not to post it.

Girls are silly. You can't play football in flip-flops. Also their balls are the wrong shape. As mine would be by the time I was done with the redhead.

When Ando came to us on loan, I honestly felt that he was out of our reach. I thought Liverpoo would not even listen for less than £2-3 million. Getting him for £250,000 was a steal. As for Soton - I watch their results/position with interest. It looks as though they will get out of the drop zone if they don't panic and will soon be back in the Championship. The club cocked up - not the fans. Best wishes.

They offered 750k apparently, but he refused to go there.

Hello Southamptonfan!

I think it is down to Colin Calderwood and the Aqcusitions Panel that got him on loan last season, then the panel and BD captured him for 250k this summer ;D

we really do love him here yes!
