song at palace

Viv Anderson
A couple of rows in front of me, a group of lads turned to the man stood behind them and sang something like - "He's going home on the .... train". (or something like that anyway...) All in friendly banter of course, and it looked like they were having a good laugh about the whole thing. Anyone know what they sang, and the reason behind it?

I was a few rows in front of you at Palace (I noticed you as I was leaving) - don't remember that song though!
