Some good news from KitBag

I emailed KitBag yesterday with a couple of questions regarding the new Club Shop, which were will we be only able to buy Forest shirts in the shop and online (i.e. will they be for sale in JJB or wherever) and would Season Ticket holders still receive a 10% discount.

This is what I've had back:

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your email

As we are running the online store we do have exclusivity with regards to the clubs merchandise. I can not give a definitive answer with regards too if the club allows other shops to sell the kits as that licensing is upon the club. However we will have the merchandise before any other high street store.

Further to this, we do allow the 10% discount upon quotation of membership number as you would be entitled to this as a season ticket holder on their products.

I hope I have been of assistance

If you require further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us

Kind Regards

So - probably only going to get the new kit at the shop (or online) but at least they've kept the Season Ticket discount (I did see a post on 606 earlier that stated there would be no discount available, but this has come from KitBag themselves!)

Crikey, these people seem to have a bit of a clue, and are responsive and helpful. What's going on!

Bet I can't use my staff discount :(

Discount sounds good have we always had that for season ticket holders?

Yes mate - Season Ticket holders have always been offered a 10% discount in the shop, on production of a season ticket book.

So kits might be available elsewhere but other merchandise wont be, although Kitbag get to sell all the gear first?

Seems fair.

even with the discount the stuff will be ridiculously over priced. Surely there should be an incentive to lower prices, and have thousands more shirts on the street? what better way of advertising is there than that?

That'll help strengthen our financial position and help the club move forwards, good thinking, lets all refuse to give our club any money.

seems now if you want to get name and number on back of your shirt its a fixed price which seems very expensive!!! used to be £3.75 a number and 75p a letter now £12 no matter what you have!?

unless you want "Whittingham 20". In which case you're on to a winner!

Rice and two numbers comes to £10.50 so maybe the Rice phenomenon is responsible :D

Do you think you can get the 10% discount online? There doesn't seem to be an option to input the code etc

Maybe it asks you to type in your clients reference number in when you've entered your bank details etc. You know as there's 5 steps of ordering an item..

Funny that. I ordered my shirt yesterday and got this reply

Thank you for your email.

UI have looked into the issue and currently Season Ticket holders do not receive a discount as we will be offering a variety of offers and discounts to you throughout the season.

I wonder if it is because you ordered online?

My original question to them was would season ticket holders continue to receive the same 10% discount *in the club shop* now that it had moved to KitBag - at that point in time, the new "Nottingham Forest Direct" store hadn't been announced.

I'm going to get my shirt from the shop anyway, as the silly postage charges (£5/£7) immediately cancel out any discount!
