No, but it is an easy way to spell cünt or cûnt without the spelling police being called

The nPower Championship sounds so crap.
We have spent a whole Football League sponsorship contract without breaking into the top flight.

Barnsley: Possibly another season of struggle.
Bristol City: May struggle a bit.
Burnley: Depends on their actual finances, but parachute payments will help
Cardiff: See above. If they have to go into admin, but would expect to be there
Coventry: Given latter form could be in trouble.
Crystal Palace : Unsure if have CVA, still need to sell. Possibly in trouble.
Derby: Early signings, but not what you would say quality ones.
Doncaster: Good season just gone, probably similar one this.
Hull: Financially in trouble. Most probably need to sell.
Ipswich: Keane started to turn around. Possibly mid-table.
Leeds Utd: Almost threw away promotion and lost Beckford. Possible struggle.
Leicester: Possible second season syndrome, but unlikely. There or thereabouts.
Middlesbrough: Poor season by their standards, but should be there or thereabouts.
Millwall: Need strength. Potential strugglers.
Norwich: Could be the "surprise" package. Mid-table and up.
Nottm Forest : Fill in gaps and should be there or thereabouts.
Portsmouth: Depends on of the CVA is accepted, but still need a complete overhaul.
Preston: Average season, hard to see anything more at the moment.
QPR: If they finally have stability could be a decent season.
Reading: If they can keep latter half form will be there or thereabouts.
Scũnthorpe: Hard to look beyond another season of struggle.
Sheff Utd: Need to re-build and bring in some players. Possibly mid-table.
Swansea: If they can start scoring goals will be a threat.
Watford: Could be another season of struggling

What I think could happen.

Is nobody going up automatically in your prediction?

Play-offs meant 'at least play-offs'.

Don't think you can pick one or two sides who stand out above the rest this season like you could last time with Newcastle and West Brom.

Had a quick look at the Odds to finish at Champions, sums up the league to be honest!

Burnley 10/1
Cardiff City 10/1
Middlesbrough 10/1
Nottingham Forest 10/1
Leicester City 11/1
QPR 11/1
Leeds 12/1
Norwich 14/1
Reading 14/1
Swansea City 14/1
Sheffield United 14/1
Portsmouth 16/1
Hull 16/1

Looking at the clubs in the League, although I would love for us to have been promoted I'm starting to think that I might prefer being where we are. Another year's experience in arguably the most competitive division in the Football League. With a couple of singings in the right places and a couple of older heads we could and maybe should pushing for Automatic.

Having said that I would more than settle for the Play-Offs, and whilst be a little dissapointed and considering the over-achieving last season a top half finish wouldn't be a disaster. It will be interesting to see how Davies will conduct himself from now onwards, teams know how we play now and he can't say we aren't ready, the team is in place (or will be with a bi of luck after the summer) and he won't get away with the same excuses this time around.

in the report on the millwall match yesterday in the observer it said that millwall would be playing the likes of portsmouth and nottingham forest next season. pretty funny.

It actually said Forest first, get it right ;).

Settle for mid-table?

That would be failure in my opinion. They have set a standard now they have to at least match.

We SHOULD be pushing for top 2, there is nothing to fear amongst those teams

A mid-table finish would cast serious doubt over the manager's position, especially if we strengthen yet again. Playoffs minimum next season.

I agree. At this time last season I would have been happy with an upper/mid table finish so I was delighted with finishing third despite our early bath. I still consider last season to be a success even though we fell at the last to final fence.

This next season, however, anything short of promotion will be a backwards step.

Billy will know this as well as anyone and the pressure will be on from the kick of the first ball.

We will have some interesting games this season. There's no team that I believe will present us with too much trouble and I look forward to breaking some new records. :)

I can't see us having a repeat of last season, we set the standards extremley high and I fear that the expectations may be a little too much. Certainly with a few signings we should be making the play-offs, but lets not be too dissapointed and get on the players/managers back if we don't quite make it.
