.... where's he going to next then as I can't see him fitting in to the team with Billy's latest additions.
 
Yeah can see garner being sold or loaned out but if he is sold i dont expect much for him; he is one of players that didnt work out in terms of the fee we paid for him.
 
He'll go the Grant Holt way.

Shame but we don't have 3 or 4 years to invest in him. We need players for now.
 
I was telling my town mates how good he was and he'll do a great job for them, they don't seem at all bothered that he's leaving. I really thought he would of made an impact there.
 
Ince might be able to motivate him. However, I think it's in his best interests to get away from Nottingham, clearly it hasn't worked out for him here.
 
Speaking of returing loanees, is Bennett being sent back here? His loan spell expired yesterday but there's nothing on the Palace or Forest sites about him returning or the loan being extended.
 
There've been rumours that they're going to sign him permanently but only rumours. I guess this week is the time for a few loose ends to be tidied up!
 
Has there ever been any indication as to why Billy does not play Garner? I've never understood it; he's young, has showed moments of brilliance (Southampton away) and was clearly rated by the board considering the the transfer fee we paid for him. Could he be a disruptive influence on the squad?
 
Ring up Carlisle and offer him on loan. Also Try Watford to see if he can pair up with Danny Graham again.

If we sell him now it will come back to haunt us like Holt. Should try him again and if he starts scoring his value will be back up to 1million.
 
We need to get rid of him soonest. Perhaps allow him to leave on a free transfer if there are any takers ?

Was a rumour he was quite 'wayward' and was a poor influence on some of the players (Chambers and McGugan), which I could understand as being a reason if Billy wanted to move him on. What I never understood was Billy's idea of playing him at RM at the start of last season, unless he'd decided Joe Garner was the next Alan Smith...

I'd loan him out, but I do have a niggling feeling he could be our Billy Sharp...
 
I know what you mean. I have a niggling suspicion that Garner is full of goals if we can get him going. He certainly looks more dangerous than McGoldrick despite Billy's insistence that he is a legend in the making.

Good point about Graham, wouldn't mind him at Forest myself, v good player imo.
 
He's very frustrating; having seen what Grant Holt has now gone on to do I guess we'll look rather stupid after selling him and he gets loads of goals. However, dropping him down a division and finding that he still can't get goals is a worry; he's certainly made few friends by the sound of it as there are always platitudes thrown around when a class player is returned to a bigger club (think about Ramsey) and there's been the bare minimum of polite thanks from Huddersfield. Alarm bells ringing, especially given the original £1.14m price tag when we've hardly got 0.14m value out of him.
 
He'll go on one of those hamster wheels and just keep going round all day.
The squeak will drive us all mad.
 
Worrying on the OS, it says the 3 loanees are back, and Bennet and Byrne scored more than Garner.
 
Same here... I still rate him and feel it's only a matter of time until he hits form.
 
That is concerning that they have scored more than garner but i dont see garner having much of a future at forest anymore. Just hope we get a fee for him lol
 
Why would you tell notts to shove it?! if they pay a loan fee and some of his wages then they can have him lol. it doesnt matter where he goes as long as they pay his wages and a fee!
