Smith or Camp?

Well we seem to have a load of shit being chucked around about our absolute rubbish young squad who finished 3rd in the league. But no one as yet seems to of mentioned that last nights performance from Lee Camp was possibly his worst for Forest.

Surely this begs the question, who is a better keeper, Smith or Camp!!??lol

Paul Smith.

But Lee Camp has had a fantastic season.

Came through to collect high balls when needed, made some saves, distributed well.
Could be at "fault" but also had a save called magnificent.
3 defenders turned to stone after Camp made the save when DJ scored his 3rd.
Camp all the way. Even the experts say how much difference it makes to the defence when a keeper does all the good stuff Camp does.
Smith will never instill enough belief in a defence when it has to do half his job for him.

Smith.

That said I don't think Camp had a particularly bad game (though from the Trent end I didn't have the best view of the goals that went in) - his save in the first half from Adam was fantastic.

Camp's distribution has got worse as the season has gone on but his saving ability is better than Smith's. After he gave away that goal he was furious, punched his post and then looked to th heavens!

Camp all the way

Whether you blame him for the first goal or not, you have to look at what could have happened if he had stayed in his goal - probably the same end result

Camp. He made some good saves last night, and his only real error was one poor goal kick which cost us.

Smiths awful.

Every keeper in the world makes mistakes, theres no point in getting on Camps back. Camp overall has had an excellent season. I'm happy we have a keeper of Smith's quality on the bench though, especially when i think back only a few years ago when Barry Roache was making the starting 11 lol

ENGLAND'S NUMBER ONE!

Apart from the one bad kick, what did Camp do wrong?

Blackpool's keeper made 5 bad kicks last night but we couldn't punish them because their defenders never ventured forward out of position.

Where our central midfield and Perch were when Camp kicked it straight to them I don't know, totally missing, but that's down to poor tactics and organisation.

I think we really need to bring Buffon into this argument to end it once and for all

I've always been a Smith fan, and still believe that he's a brilliant keeper - far better than a number two for a Championship side. But Camp has been absolutely outstanding this season.

Yeah he had a bad game yesterday. Yeah it was his fault for one of Blackpool's goals, but if you take away the amount of points he's saved us this season, then we would have been struggling outside the playoffs.

Camp conceded 4 shockingly simple goals, shouldn't have come out for the chip, had an eternity to read the deflection. Inept. With Smith we'd have won 3-0 and be playing premiership football next season. Camp needs to be sacked.
