Sitting with an away fan

I may be going to tomorrows game with my girlfriends dad. Unfortunately he's a Rovers fan.

My normal seat is in the Trent end upper tier. Now I know others have gone to games with fans of the opposition.

Would sitting where I normally sit cause a problem or would I be better moving to the BC stand where it probably wouldn't be a problem?
 
So long as he doesn't kick off when we put four past them it should be fine ;)

In sensibleville, it will be fine so long as he doesn't start leaping around like a loon.

Failing that you could move to T-Block where there's the ill-conceived officially sanctioned mixed seating area.
 
I would like to think he would be able sit with me in my usual seat may risk it after all it wont be my head getting kicked in lol

I think he may need to sit next to you, i dont think they allow you to have another adult sat on your knee :ph34r:
 
I've got a contact at Sheff U and have sorted free tickets to Bramall Lane 8/12/09 with hospitality, meet the players, etc, but have got to sit in the director's box. Nice work if you can get it but I'm dreading the inevitable 'scorus interruptus' moment(s) when we knock in a goal and I have to stifle my usual celebrations.

On the other hand, I got a play-off final ticket from the same source last year and it was quite funny sitting quietly while the butty boys watched their team roll over.
 
Smithy and seven of others got tickets for Forest v Newcastle in the visitors end, he feels they were spotted but due to their actions very little danger, been different if they had bought attention to themselves.
 
Your mate doesnt even have to celebrate much if Forest score, just needs to keep his head down.

There is nothing stopping you and him sitting in A Block as long as he keeps his head down if Doncaster score.

We had a family of Forest and Doncaster fans sat behind us - I think they were confused about the mixed seating area because they'd got seats in the upper BC stand. For the first half I hadn't realised but during the break my mate gave me a nudge just as the young lad was slagging off Forest, The City Ground, our supporters, etc .......... it kinda p!ssed me off but it was priceless seeing the look on his face after the three second half goals (McGugans goal earned him a cheeky little wink during our celebrations).

Needless to say they shot off early, I think they had to meet up with the shirt-less virgin from the away end for the trip home
 
The first ever Forest game I went to against Arsenal, I remember being sat next to several Arsenal fans (the Trent End was being rebuilt so there was a heavily restricted away allocation) which was fine. There's no harm in it as long as they show respect to the home fans and keep quiet.

I don't altogether go for that. The singing - the shouting & the banter from both sides makes for good atmosphere.

Imagine our supporters (away) being told to sit down & shut up - some of the grounds would be like morgues.

Very often it's our supporters that get the home side going, which then makes for great vocal support from both sides.

Our away support and the noise we make has been recognised by our players, to which they have made comments about on numerous occasions by saying how it gives them such a big lift.

If supporters feel they can not sing or shout because of intimidation then we will start to lose the atmosphere and the game will go down hill and get really boring.

Having said that - I can't wait until Rangers & Celtic try out our latest & most fantastic idea.

Of course you are right.

I was talking about fans who end up in the "wrong" end for some reason or another.
