Billy Davies has come out in the press saying that the board are not backing him with funds to get the necessary playing staff needed in the fight to maintain Championship status.

Fans have suspected for many years that the board is not fully backing managers with appropriate funds for both transfer fees and wages. This has to stop.

Fans have continued to support the club through nearly a decade of dismal performances culminating in 3 years in League One. Its time for Nigel Doughty to deliver on his promise of progress at the club.

We the undersigned support Billy Davies and call on Nigel Doughty to make available the neccesary funds to make essential and emergecy loans in a bid to keep Nottingham Forest in the Championship this season.

BTW, not my idea, albeit a good one, I'm just spreading the word

I will sign it once you can prove that you have paid him back the money the club owe him.

I'll pay for him to get to an interview where he can state that the club is for sale.

I don't know, but there seem to be plenty of people on here who have the same sentiment that the petition is trying to get across to the club. I just thought I would bring it to their attention. That way if they want to do anything about their feeling they have a petition to sign for starters.

I won't sign this. I don't believe that Doughty is the problem. He's proven over recent seasons that he can and will back the club financially.

It's the people who organise the distribution of transfer funds and targets who are the problem here. Pleat is eating up resources for very little value for money and Mark Arthur just BREAKS transfer deals through his woeful lack of understanding over the transfer market.

Get rid of those two and there wouldn't be a problem...

The petition doesn't say that Doughty is the problem

All it's asking him to do is deliver on what he said in the summer when we got promoted. That being, he would make sure money was available to ensure we stay in the division. If ever we needed his money, it's now.

I agree with you, the problem in MA, always bloody well has been

I don't think Doughty is the problem. I've always maintained it has a lot to do with Mark Arthur and still believe that to be the case.

Earnshaw? Garner? Anderson? Martin ( albeit briefly), Lynch (albeit badly).....point is he has made money available and if the consensus is that MA is the problem ( a valid point in my book) then that is what the petition should say. Not that it will work in my view, Doughty backs his man and will not be bullied into change.

That is what the petition is being signed for.

It isn't a witch hunt or such like, just a simple request from us fans to say, Nigel, we need your money, please back the man you appointed as manager so that we do not get relegated. Hopefully!

Anderson, Martin & Lynch are all loan signings are they not? Those lost through injury or such like need replacing

How much has the guy lost us in revenue? 3 years in league 1 has cost how much? When we were taken over by him, I believe we was in the region of £32 million in debt, and a solid Championship team. We are now in debt to Mr Doughty to the tune of £42 million at the last count and have a much weaker team and seemingly likely to be a championship/League 1 yoyo team....... Hardly an outstanding legacy he is leaving behind is it??
