Would you keep BD in?

Lots has been said about him being from derby his open criticism of certain players and the constant repetition of "we have a squad of babies"

The board made it clear when CC was sacked that it was imperative we remained in this league and relegation was unthinkable does that mean that BD hasn't done his job and should be sacked? It would be a big pay off with 3 years remaining on his deal.

I for one though would keep him. I like what he wants to do with the club his ambition in signing players and his honesty on the situation. I was fed up of listening to the same excuses of "we have an injury crisis" and the idea of "brush it under the carpet and it will all get better" that was consistent in interviews under CC.

BD is straight talking and brutally honest with fans on the situation he has made it clear it was never going to be easy, he isn't happy with the fitness of players, the size and age of the squad and he has most definately suggested the manner in which transfers and other areas of the club are arranged are simply not good enough.

I genuinely believe BD can sort this club out championship or league one. He has ambition, drive and determination to turn things around and we all know by his track record he is successful.

Without a doubt I'd like Billy Davies to stay. It's time we stopped giving the manager the chop every time something goes wrong. It's clearly not the managers that are the real problems with our club. It is certain player's attitudes and the chuckle brothers Doughty and Marthur.

I'd like to see Billy stay even if we go down, he has the ambition and drive to sort our club out. He has a good eye for players as we have found out. It was always going to be difficult for Billy to come in near the end of the season and adapt quickly.

But I am still in the belief Billy will save us from the drop, he is a good manager and knows exactly what he's doing in this league. Wether we stay up or go down we will see the best come out of Billy next season :)

Well said Jacky. U won't get a better man in charge for league one. Hopefully get a few more players to stay aswel.

i'd definitely keep him , my gut feeling is that we will go down on goal difference or by a point but i'm positive davies would bring us straight back up.

I may be swimming against the tide a little here, but for the first time, in a long time, I feel confident with the Manager at the Club. He looks and talks the part, he has a proven track record and also he is not blind enough to come into the Forest job without knowing he has a fight on his hands to ensure Forest survive.

He is the right age, right experience and he is hurting, following his treatment at dirby, I mean the bloke was messed upon from a decent height. He was honest at dirby, in so much as they were promoted a year too early. Some may say this is an excuse, others the blunt truth, but as we all know dirby were shown up as the worst team in history of the top flight. So I accept that he spoke the truth.

He is no shrinking violet and will always fight his corner at every opportunity, at the moment his corner is Forest and that suits me.

BD is also abrasive, I have heard several rumours ( Not for here ) that he is a hard task master, not only for the players, but also other employees of the club, he will not stand for no nonsense, re Transfers or any other department of the club. In fact almost a throw back to the older generation style of managers, where they ruled with an iron fist.

Some how things have still not settled down at Forest, I just feel that BD is the man to drag the club kicking and screaming forward, I feel many will fall by the wayside, I think the trip will be turbulent, but also successful. I just hope that BD's ambition and no doubt desire to ram his success down someones throat, comes as Manager of Forest.

I did not fancy him when he first came, but now welcome him with open arms.

I have a novel idea.

Instead of the manager leaving. Why don't we try getting rid of someone above him. Someone somewhere between manager and owner for example?

Someone who will have overseen two relegations?

How about the real culprit take the fall this time?

The man who told us all 2 years ago that next season would be the promotion to the premiership season?

A question to ask is would he stay?

I don't believe that relegation on its own would see him leave, however, he is a man of principle. If players he wanted to keep were sold and players he wanted to bring in didn't materialise it would not suprice me if he walked.

I don't think he'd walk, simply because he gets paid off if he's sacked, gets nothing for walking.

The board can make clear whatever they bloody well like, the fact of the matter is that this squad, unless blessed with an uncanny degree of uniform fitness throughout the season, was in no shape to stay up comfortably at all. Clough and Taylor in their prime wouldn't have made a jot of difference in some of the matches this year - we've not the experience nor the fitness and you can't come in and make either happen within a season.

If some hearsay about Davies is true, that'd be a reason for him to be sacked. Conversely if some other hearsay about Davies is true, he should be given the job for life. But not keeping us up is hardly a reason for him to go.

What we do know is that managers capable of doing it at the highest level keep coming through this club and getting nowhere, and probably someone does need to be sacked. But not Davies. Especially because before he came in and we looked at the list of candidates, who the f*** else was there anyone wanted, apart from Nigel, who probably wouldn't come now if we offered to double his wages (the sheep shagging bastard).

If we have to go down again, f*** it. What can you do? Should be a laugh with Billy and his merry men next season though. Admit it, it'll be a more colourful league than under Calderwood and co, and the things he's promising to develop in the players will not only be just as achieveable down there, we'll be pissing over the opposition left right and centre if we manage to keep the team together. And they are all pretty culpable at this stage. Imagine Earnie's tally in Division 1!

We love him, he's on good money, Wales won't play him either way and he could score fifty in a season. I'd f***ing stay!

No wonder my post count..
I think he'll stay. His appointment didn't sound like an appointment for the sake of getting a manager in, he sounded like he genuinely wanted to bring Forest back to its former glory again.

He's managed to financially penetrate the chairman so the board are obviously warming to his ways.

I hope if worst comes to worst, BD is able to build a solid foundation in League One of players who will be more than adequate for the championship. In the long term, with BD, we will be high up the ranks. Just takes some work.

Heh, there is some silver lining if we drop down to the depths of hell.

Of course he'll stay.

There is no chance that Billy Davies will walk out in the summer if we went down.

He will see it as his duty to get us straight back up.

Thats a question... what players will stay if we go down?

If Billy convinces the majority of them that we'll be right back up to CCC, that would be amazing. If not, no problem. I'm confident he can bring in decent cover over the summer.

I honestly can't see Earnshaw staying, but I guess it depends on how he sees his future.

By excelling in League One, which he would, he'd be able to show his quality and hold down a Welsh squad place and he is settled in the area apparently.

Also, his recent injury record hasn't been the best, so would anyone else risk the money on him?

Cohen would go, McGugan would go and we'd have no chance of signing Anderson etc...

Ah yeah :(

Anderson is fantastic though, I'm not even sure we'd need him in league one to be honest. It'd be like borrowing a rocket launcher for pest control.

I don't believe relegation would be the issue.
He was shafted in January - if he were to be shafted again in the summer I could see him going. £750k a year is a lot to walk away from but I could see him doing it... letting rip big time too.

I'd keep him on as he would be ideal for a promotion battle. But the question is would he want to stay? There will be plenty of Championship clubs who'd want him as their manager, and he would probably leave in the middle of a successful season, leaving us once again in a mess.
