Although I loathe to get carried away too early or dramatise a situation, but it's simply too much of a coincidence that Shorey coming in has coincided with us looking as tight as a gnats chuff at the back.
Although I think we have been good at the back virtually all season I'm positive Shoreys arrival has given a lift to the other defenders too esp Morgan and Wilson who have been simply superb.
So I don't want to say that it's a deffinate but I think securing Shorey will be pivotal to the rest of the season.
We should do whatever it takes to get him absolute quality. It's amazing the impact that one player can have on a team, we were doing well before he came but we have looked a different class since he's come
Its been a long time since we have had two full backs of equal quality in my opinion, both superb. Shorey always picks out the simple balls to the highest of standards BUT even when he is in a hole he seems to put the ball in the areas it needs to go. Calm on the ball and experienced aswell, think we should at least tie him up on loan til the end of the season and then hope we can get him if we go up.
I reckon it's more of a case of Villa finding a relacement for him before we can sign him permanently, from what i have seen he's looked excellent and I certainly hope we can get him in permanently.
Shorey is not the difference between us going up and staying down. Whilst I am not underestimating the contribution he has made, I don't think the left-back was a weak link in the side before he arrived, nor were we conceding many.
Of course we stand a better chance with him on board, but I firmly believe we stand a good chance without him as well.
Ando seems to have a new lease of life too. Whilst he has always been impressive it's nice to see him attack the wings more with a quality LB in support !
