Shorey Out Again - So..................

PSR

With the absents of Nicky Shorey for Tuesday nights replay, who comes in at LFB?

The team BD put out against Birmingham at the City Ground was:

Camp
Perch Chambers Morgan Gunter
Anderson McKenna Majewski Cohen
Earnshaw Blackstock

Subs: Smith Wilson McGugan McGoldrick Tyson McCleary Adebola

I cant see him playing the same team that he did a the CG but I can see him playing similar tactics to those he played at the Hawthornes on Friday night.

We did enough to beat Birmingham the first time around, so will Billy field his strongest eleven to finish the job or does he rest one or two from Friday again?

My starting eleven has to be...............................

Camp.
Perch Wilson Morgan Gunter
Anderson McKenna Majewski Cohen
McGoldrick
Blackstock

Subs: Smith Chambers Tyson Mousii Adebola Earnshaw McGugan

I'd play Moussi, even if it's just for an hour because we'll revert to 4-4-2 at home and he can be rested against Reading.

My side would be the same as the one that played on Friday night except Perch in for Shorey and Gunter to left-back.

Guy Moussington is back, viz a vie we can slip Cohen back to left back, play two up front and bob's your uncle.

I'd be tempted to slot Perchy in to right back and Gunter over to left back again.

I bow to billy, but you asked for our teams, so i've left gunter on the right and put perchy on the left

Billy likes to play his 4-5-1 away from home and I left the Moose out because he played the full match at the Hawthornes after missing the last six weeks, so I didn't think he would have it in him to play 2 matches in a week - and he also walked off at full time knackered and limping slightly.

I think we might find Cohen at Left back with Moussi & Perchy sharing the Holding role (1/2 each) and Tyson down the left.

Oh and Al do you fancy this one?

Whats the news on Earnshaw?? Is he proper injured or was it just a niggle??

It would be better surely if we were playing Perch, to slot him in at left-back and leave Gunter at right-back?

Perch is pretty poor going forward in either role but is solid defensively. However by putting Gunter at left-back his attacking prowess is severely limited by the the fact he is right-footed, as seen against Brum.

I think Gunter is better with his left foot than Perch.

Rested; It doesn't matter though we still have 5 other strikers and if we do get a little thin on the ground in that area - there's always more in the Ad-Mag. :D

I forgave sky for thinking our 451 was a defensive formation cos they wont have done much research on us. I was surprised that Di Matteo siad before fridays game he thought we were at the hawthorns to defend and frustrate them. Statistically a lower league teams best chance against a premier league team is during the first leg - we'll need to be excellent to get a result tuesday. More magic from majic please.

My thoughts too, but Billy had Gunter on the left and Perch on the right in the first leg - it puzzled me before the kick off, perhaps he had asked Gunter to overlap, cut inside and shoot, or maybe he planned to switch them like he does his wingers but changed his mind cos each full back had their respective wingers in their pockets? Or answer D - none of these?

Billy hinted the other day that he would severely rotate the squad for this one so he will probably play our strongest team!
Seriously though, I'm not really interested in this game anymore and hope we can get it out the way without losing heavily, whilst giving the likes of Chambers, McGugan, Garner etc a game.

I would rather play Joel Lynch if Perch isn't going to play left-back. Gunter's attacking is important, as seen on Friday, and putting him at left-back limits his effectiveness. He must be kept at right-back.

No he didn't and he came jumping over to the fans at the end, which is not the kind of thing you do if you have any kind of serious injury.

We played 4-2-3-1 at West Brom. I don't Majewski would drop into Moussi's slightly more defensive position as part of the 2 in front of the defence.

Did fine with him there against Birmingham at home.

I thought Gunter wasn't half as effective going forward in that game. His attacking is an important weapon so should be utilised to the full.

Perch is rubbish at going forward anyway but solid defensively which is why he will do just as well at left-back as he did at right-back.

Anyway it's Billy's call :)

I'd change it all around. Let Tyson, Chambers, Perch, McGugan, McCleary have a start. Goldie and Earnie up front. Its one of those games we don't really need until we have a bit thicker squad. These lads have all seen first hand how Billy wants them to play so lets see they play..

I think he was saying something about Dex having a problem with his groin so he may start with Dele for this.
