Shorey played for hodgson, hodgson wanted him but probably knew he was on his way to somewhere else. Hodgson goes to Liverpool. Shorey will probably go to Liverpool too.
It's weird to have a team like Liverpool signing an aging defender, but it's probably the most likely scenario.
I'll gladly eat humble pie if he comes to us.

Well it would be great if he came here, but maybe Billy is making mischief with the "Shorey is a Red" comment, and what with the Hodgson connection maybe he has signed for the scousers?
Liverpool are indeed getting rid of a number of players (including probably some of the defenders Benitez bought).

Ah so that was the LTLF group! I was sat at the front side row (in yellow t-shirt) and heard Billy twice say .......is a red when Shorey was mentioned! The first time was without the mic and I only just made it out sitting six feet away. When asked who will start left back against Burnley he said Shorey and then backtracked when someone said no I mean who we have now! It was a pantomime 'back track' response though! All in all a good night spoilt by one or two pr**ks especially that thick fat c**t who should have been ejected.

Sorry to jump on the old 'I know someone whose brother/sister/dad/[Insert relation] works at the ground but' I've recently caught up with an old college mate (this morning to be exact) and he told me his half sister (I take it she's a whole person) works at the CG and she told him we've already signed Pratley and Shorey. (I know its the same old, and i do have my doubts) but what whet my appetite was he then told me that we've had discussions with John Arne Riise. (yep I know this conflicts with Shorey) Can anyone confirm/debunk or slate this?

I know a lot of people disagree but I believe Billy was hinting that Shorey is very close to signing.
Not so much the "Is a Red" comment but the answer he gave to who will play left-back against Burnley if we don't make any further signings.
I know he back-tracked when Rich explained the question but maybe this was not to make it too obvious the point he was trying to hint at.
