He'd be a fool not to come, guaranteed first team football, in a team (with him in that is) that would be near the top of the table. He may moan about wages but at then end of the day he's still going to be the highest earner at the club.

I think if I was offered twice the wages and half the games at a club like West Ham, I'd go there instead.

The thing is, we as fans, no matter how much we try not to be will always see Forest as being the near pinnacle of a playing career!

Hence so many 'Why would he go to Wigan?' comments when we missed out on Moses.

Hi guys, first time post so go easy on me!

I have it on good authority (my dad is a coach at villa) that Shorey has already spoken to forest and that he will sign, West Ham made an enquiery when they found he was talking to forest and this has delayed things, but he is definately coming.

I think he would come to us if we paid him his Premiership standard wages. Based on what I saw of him of his loan spell he would be worth it as his experience, composure and presence was a main reason we progressed from a team drawing a lot to a side capable of automatic promotion.

I honestly think had we bitten the bullet last season and just paid his wages, instead of spunking a load of money on Boyd, who was a waste of time, we would all be anticipating Premiership football.

I get where you are coming from but there is also the chance that if you are only playing half the games and the guy playing the other half hits form then that could mean that you play less and less. Then you are going to be missing out on appearance bonus and others perks, plus you end up being on the bench for most of the season and then maybe a young guy comes though the ranks and puts you in to third choice which then makes your value drop and then you only get lower league clubs or relegation regulars sniffing around you.

Or you could go to a club with ambitions of playing in the Premier league, play week in week out, get your bonuses, get your match fitness become a better / more valuable player and if that club doesn't make it up you have a better chance of getting in to a club at a higher level as you've shown how good a player you are.

Plus some players just want to play week in week out and aren't just in it for what they can get in the short term.

Rant over, and yes I know I may be wrong.
