Shefki Kuqi

Someone on the NEP site seems pretty convinced that Kuqi is at the city ground today signing a season long loan. Can anyone confirm this. Not sure about him, seems like the sort of big centre forward BD a few people have been suggesting we need, but according to a Wednesday fan mate of mine he's awful!

he was great.

but hes been shit recently

I doubt this. The reason CP don't want him is that he earns stupid money and won't sign a new contract on reduced terms. I can't see Forest paying those wages.

I'd actually be relatively pleased with Kuqi signing.

Especially since he scored against us in both games for Palace this season.

I don't think he'd stay beyond the summer, but he'd help in that role we lack up front.

I'd rather play big Wes up front for the rest of the season.

Kuqi is a useless lump with ideas above his station. Not the type of player or person I want at this club.

I agree with you to an extent, because he isn't the most pleasent of people, but we don't have a big strong striker, and Morgan's our best defender by far.

Kuqi could fill that void short term, so I wouldn't be against it.

But Kuqi is a useless lump. If you agree, to any extent, why do we need him?

No thanks, I agree we need soemone with a presence up front, but I'd rather not settle for Kuqi.

Agreed. However, I don't think we need one. It's not like we're getting a barrage of crosses into the box and our set pieces are, apart from McGoogle's shots, woeful.

We've show in the last couple of games that we can win whilst getting the ball into Earnie's feet.

I'm sure most of you remember Gareth Taylor? As soon as you put a player of that ilk into the team, the defence will take the easy option to lump it in his general direction nine times out of ten.

why this obsession with 'we need a big guy up front'

the past 2 games weve played great football to feet and weve won.

I think we need an alternative option.

For example, if we need to play direct to save a point or something like that, then a bigger striker is needed to hold the ball up or flick it on for Earnie/Tyson to run on to.

Kuqi may, or may not fill that role, but you get my point, right?

I don't think he's useless, but I agree that he's a lump.

I also agree that he thinks he's better than he is.

He'd be another dimension to our attack. Particuarly away from home or when you're protecting a lead it can useful to have someone who can hold the ball up. Personally I'd prefer us to play beautiful football for 90 mins every game but realistically of you want to be successful in this league and ultimately get promotion you need to be able to mix it. West Brom being a good example.

Interesting, i'm not sure what to think to this Kuqi would add another dimension to our attack which can't be bad .

I heard about this too from a lad who went to get his Swansea ticket this morning. Is there a lookalike maybe parading as a chunky Finnish bloke?

I no he isn’t great, but i wouldn’t mind him here as an option on the bench, think his experience could be an advantage.

He is one of the least talented footballers i've ever seen in my life. And with the amount of money he's in my opinion earning i really hope he doesnt come here... he cant be a bench option as he would be far too costly. Rejected the option to lower his wages at palace so why would he do that substantially to come here?

the only 'presents' you'd get out of richjcrouch are small brown smelly ones...

and does anyone else think the NEP took this from this very forum a few days ago and just ran with it?

Palace turned down Blackpools approach for Kuqi and Scowcroft so would say this is doubtful. Would also make,' I will only sign players who want to play long term for this club' look a bit daft as well.

I think BD has laughed that idea off now to be honest. Its clear that McSheffrey is only her to regain fitness and get back in the Birmingham squad long term.
