Seasonal comparisons

Forest Jonny

First Team Squad
Drawing on comparisons to last season, I've looked up and worked out that should we win on Saturday we would be on the exact same points at the same point from last season.

I mention this fact as many consider this season to be disappointing so far. I am fully aware that to put another run together will be a tall order. But why not? By this time last year our run had already started.

Has this season really been that bad or are we viewing it as bad because of the standards we set last season in a season where we over achieved? I think the later tbh; we are right where we need to be because we are in contention. The world seems a brighter place, lol.

Beating QPR would be just the sort of result to put us on a run as well. That said, there's the small matter of away trips to Cardiff and Leicester straight after, so its not going to be easy.

A draw at Cardiff and a win at Leicester would maybe be feasible?

But yeah, nice stat, we're still in the hunt for a play off place, and there's still the January transfer window to go, no need to picnic yet.

I think it's the performances more than anything.

Last season, we all knew results were coming. We pissed on both West Brom and Blackpool at home and got nothing when we should have taken all three points from both. Away we looked fairly strong too - solid at the back if nothing else. The whole team was playing well. It was only a matter of time before performances turned into points.

This season we're scraping wins at home. We no longer look solid at the back. Away form is dire. I just can't see us putting the same run together to push us up into the top 2 like we managed last season, especially if McGugan takes off his scoring boots.

We need Blackstock to start scoring again, and Earnie to shop gerrin' injured.

This squad just needs to get us up to january still in contention; if we are then i firmly believe that nigel will invest in the squad significantly. He will have no excuses because now billy is putting serious pressure on him for answers; he cant say he wants the prem like billy and then not invest because it shows he is all talk.

It doesnt matter how we get results, we just need to get them.

Can honestly see us losing 3 in a row from now onwards. Anyone who thinks we can get away with playing as shit as we have been lately and not take a punishing from the top two teams must be mad. Leicester has got loss all over it just for the pure fact that they are shit and we have balls the size of atoms

cardiff looked shit on sunday - we'll tear them a new one

As has been pointed out, we were playing better this time last season. But the table says it all, we are still in the same position - which is no bad thing. We can easily push on from here. The league is again wide open this season
