Season Ticket Renewal

Someone has messaged me on IG saying they have been offered one but their son who goes with him, same memebership level same number of games hasn't... I'm no expert but surly it would make sense to go "Let's look at at peoples Forest Network, ahh look there is a Mr and Mrs Beardo and they have the same booking history and alwasy sit together so lets offer them BOTH one" - Seems that is beond the clubs compitance to do.

Also having thought about it last night surly going off booking history since promotion regardless of memebership level and working down the list is the fairest way of doing it? As you buy a membership to have the chance of getting a ticket, if you have a Gold memebership you pay your £100 so you are 100% gurenteed the chance to purchase a ticket for every home game, Silver you are more or less gurenteed to get one and Bronze you have to pick what's left. If you have a Gold membership and you chose to not buy a ticket that's on you. Why should that give you priority over lower banded memebers who have gone to games? Like I said I know of Gold and Silver memebers who hardly go, maybe 8/9 games a seaosn? We as Bronze have been to well over 50 since promotion (And 100's before I may add :ROFLMAO:) and there will be plenty that have been to more than that!

I know they have to draw the line somewhere and you can't please everyone but to get a message saying simply saying "Well, if your not a Gold memeber reagrdless of how many games you have been to, tough titties"

Did they say it's 97% renewed? I would be stunned if more than 1% are re-sold back they desperatly want to get ST numbers down so can flog more expensive single game tickets. After the Europa League fiasco where they tried to charge silly money and people voted with their wallets (Well done by the way shows that the fans can have a voice) and they had to flip flop and cut the prices will be interesting if they have actually learnt anything regarding ticket prices but i'll not hold my breath.

I agree with you mate.

It shouldn't be about "who's on the highest level of membership" - it should be about "who makes the most effort".

My lad's just turned 11, is a Pro Member and hasn't missed a league or cup game since promotion. How he (and anyone else with an 100% attendance record for 4 seasons) hasn't been offered one yet is beyond me.

But someone who was a member in 21/22 and a Gold Member in 22/23 who might only go to 4 or 5 games a season is ranked higher.

It's bollox.

It feels a bit of a conspiracy but I do think there's something in the idea that they don't want to offer season cards to people who go most often, because it wouldn't make financial sense.

Offering season cards to those who don't go to every game may actually mean they squeeze more money out of those people (they'd pay more for a season card instead of, say, 5 or 6 games during the season). Those of us stupid enough to have been paying full whack for every game for the past 4 or 5 years aren't going to suddenly stop doing that - so why would they shoot themselves in the foot by giving us a cheaper alternative?

They've made it pretty clear in recent years that loyalty means nothing.

"We're scrapping the points system, starting from scratch and ignoring any attendance before the promotion season."
"Pay a tenner to get yourself on the season card waiting list."
"I'm sorry but there are 10k supporters on the waiting list who'll take your season card if you don't like the increases."
"I'm sorry but we won't be offering any season cards to those on the waiting list."

Not a conspiracy mate really as I think that is EXACTLY what they want.

Like you say us that go every week regardless with out a ST give them a lot more money and we won't stop going because it's what we do! I haven't worked it out exactly but the 14 League games we went to this seaosn if i break it down to an average of £60 a game means I have given the club around £840 - why would they then offer me a cheaper alternitive to go to all games rather than me having to pay between £60-£70 on individual games. and someone with a Gold memebership that goes to 8/9 games, offer them one as they may take us up on it and we get even more money even if they don't bother turning up and re-sell it on the exchange we get the money twice!

Also obviouse they have blocked off the Mid Upper BC and PT stands to try and sell as "Premium Seating" Which always amuses me I always think of someone paying £70+ for a seat in these stands, one that was built in the 60's and one in 1980, getting there and thinking "What the hell is this cramped breezblock shed??

I am just hoping I get the chance to maybe move up to a silver Membership but I will not hold my breath. With No Europian football next year at least it's gonna be less a hit on my bank!

I have an ST in A block. A block definitely isn't "Premium Seating"! :)

It is a bit cheaper than the most expensive category, and I presume there is no availability as most people around me seem long termers?

I got offered a season ticket a couple of years ago; I was a Gold Member and I would estimate that I'd been to 80% to 90% of home games in the first two Premier League seasons; I'd also got a good record of attendance during the Championship seasons. I've no idea how they work out who gets offered a season ticket, however I have had a home membership since they were first introduced.

I would say membership has been around for 15 years, but no one really bothered with them; you could pretty much guarantee a ticket to most home games and the only time it became relevant was when we played Derby. Before all this Pro, Plus, Gold, Silver nonsense, it was just a standard home membership and I wonder if the club are offering season cards to fans with historic home membership.

Let's say you've been to every home game since we got promoted to the Premier League, but you've only had a home membership for 4 years, you may be behind someone who has been to 75% of home games, but they've held a home membership since they were first introduced.

It's all a bit luck of the draw - the club are squeezing out a few season cards every year, but the club want more people on membership anyway, as it brings them more money.

I think anything pre Promotion isn't counted they started from scratch? But who knows!

We gave up our ST years ago when we moved from Notts as we could just buy a ticket for everygame if we wanted to go and working for the NHS means a lot of Weekends/Lates/Nights so couldn't make some games and as no exchnage at the time in the Champo made it not really worth it in the end.

I just thought we would never get promoted again! Should have just kept it up for the following 5/6 seaosn until we got promoted :ROFLMAO:

In a similar boat but I was Gold 21/22 and son was silver. Finding it hard to criticise the club too much here. The earlier you got in the queue, the nearer the front you are; assuming you subsequently attended 'significant number' of matches. We all know that everyone is going to game the system as far as they can anyway - e.g. purchase history doesn't necessarily mean attendance because you can buy tickets and give to your mates.

Can you remember what the criteria was for Gold that first season? It was obviously based on something but I can't remember what.

I was buying 3 memberships and only managed to get Silver as Gold sold out almost instantly. Little did I know my brother in law had 3 Gold memberships in his basket but couldn't assign to us because I'd already assigned us the Silver ones - and that "admin error" is why none of us have been offered a season card since. Ditto for anyone who struggled with the original away tickets queuing system and as a result can't get away tickets any more.

It's just frustrating that most of our ticketing decisions since promotion appear to have been based off stuff like that - bad luck and IT issues - rather than real things like who's actually gone to games.

I went the opposite way - only moved to Notts in the promotion year! Used to go to 10+ games a year before that, and plenty away when it was easy to get a ticket and you didn't need memberships etc. Never had a season ticket because night games were often impossible for me to get to due to work, so it wasn't worth the cost (and there wasn't a game in living memory that I couldn't get a ticket for if I'd wanted it).

Should've just used the money I saved on travel to buy one the year I moved here - hindsight is 20/20!

I think it went to Existing home memebers at the time or if you had a ST already and wanted to swop to a Gold membership.

Looks like they're keeping the expensive seats free for match day sales and offering the cheap seats out for new season card holders to maximise their profits.

Not very fair if you're used to going in a certain area with friends/family etc.
Shocked! Shocked I tell you.........

The club isn’t arsed about my or anybody else’s loyalty. It has one objective for the 7k home tickets available each matchday (over and above the 20k season cards), which is to make sure they all sell.
That’s around 7k x 19 home games = 133k tickets.
If you were commercial director (as opposed to ticket office manager), would you like, for example:
13,300 different fans attending 10 games each OR
7,000 fans attending 19 games each.
option A brings you in >£500k pa in membership fees.
No brainer. As Jimmy Squirrel once famously said, “F*** the fans”.
I was actually told “that’s not really how memberships were designed to be used” when I pointed out that someone attending all 19 league games would on average pay 65%-70% more across the season than a SC holder.

I think it works out at about 70% more you would pay if you are a Gold member and go to all 19 league games depending of course where you sit works out at roughly £1.3k including your membership. And as you basiaclly have to be a memeber or you have basiaclly no chance of going and the club know this - they will happily continue to milk it for all it's worth until they hit the point/cost where people start to not be willing to pay. They are yet to reach this threashold though.

I only pay about fifty quid for my membership, but I do get Colin Fray streaming for that, so it is well worthwhile.

Whilst pretty much all the Forest games are on German telly, I don’t half miss Mr. Fray‘s dulcet tones.

Have any numbers ever been published on how many were in each membership band? I presume it was a first come, first served basis for Gold, with a limited number available and the only criteria was that you were a non renewed ST holder or a member the previous season?

I'm sure it was first come first served when they rejigged membership after promotion. They never stated the number then but at the start of last season they did say how many were in each tier. Pro was 5500, Plus was 5000 and the Core was uncapped.

It was a queue system and then fastest finger wins when the new tiers were launched. I was still slow at the game and so ended up in the 2nd tier as the 1st tier went while I was still on the loading screen.

I think in total we have about 24k memebers ish in total across the 3 bands. With about 15k in the uncapped bottom tier. You have to be on the ball to get a ticket like we are. Wouldn’t surprise me i theykeep putting the price up year on year I am expecting it to top £55 this year numbers will start to drop off in the bottom tier as it hits that cap of cost vs what you actually get.

Yes we've seen demand in general slowly come down the longer weve been at this level. The first season the lowest membership had to strike lucky to get any ticket. This season it's been easy to get tickets for any match. The amount of SC resale tickets has certainly been at it's highest.

Maybe this last season was a bit of an anomaly what with all the extra euro match costs but I still imagine it'll be easy for any core members that want a ticket to get one next season.

This certainly has been the easiest it’s been for us to get tickets. We have been to games every season but 1st was 2 or 3 league games and the cup. 2nd was Similar, last season we got to over 10 games, this season we have been to 20 and haven’t struggled to get tickets at all. Was always going to happen as the novelty wears off and the price continues to go up that demand would ultimate slow down.
