"You're paying high but not excessive prices for your ticket and those tickets could be repackaged by the club and they could send you to a warehouse in Trafford Park and give you a pie and a pint before the match and get a former player to tell a few anecdotes and they could sell those tickets for £200-£300 a pop. That's what the club wants."

They make more money having season ticket seats resold on top of the cash flow benefit they have.

We don't have the same tourist constituency.

Man United could sell out Old Trafford every game with people who don't live in the country and just flew in as a one off - and as mentioned, they buy an expensive ticket package and spend a ton in the club shop. Those are the fans being referred to. We don't have that to the same degree.

I'm sure Forest will do what they can to encourage and exploit the tourist market - but it's not going to supplant ST holders. Forest, for the foreseeable future, still need to retain their core. Especially once we've got the new Main Stand built and an extra 14,000 tickets to sell.

This is the thin end of the wedge which, in a couple of years' time will limit you to (x) number of listings or forwardings per season before the Club deem that you're not loyal enough in your own right to deserve a season ticket and it gets rescinded.

I get what you’re saying Flaggers, and the issues at Man United are horrendous, but as someone with a membership and no SC I have to say this feels like a good thing. The more tickets that come available to the likes of us the better, and the more full the ground the better. Asking SC holders to make their seats available if they aren’t going to use them for a given game just makes sense and is surely better for everyone?

I understand they cynicism, especially with the abhorrent way Man U are treating long term SC holders, but we can go on and call that out if or when it happens. This approach today really shouldn’t warrant any criticism. It’s just common sense and benefits everyone to get every seat filled, and transferring your ticket or sticking it on the exchange isn’t really asking a lot.

Indeed - I don't, however, buy the "1000 unused seats every game" claim.
People have known about the Exchange and the ticket forwarding schemes since their inception.
Until yesterday, the club had no pathway towards culling season ticket holders whom they arbitrarily decide to be "not loyal enough".

The announcement yesterday is the foundation for that pathway.
 
Of course, for various reasons this topic doesn't concern me or bother me, but I read it with interest. It must be really difficult to sort out a system to try and suit everybody when the depth of interest is so great. The law of supply and demand is never so clearly illustrated, but they also have to budget for the day when demand drops; oh, that that day never comes.

And there must be many like me who don't go now, but who come from the generation who never bothered to book a ticket, just turned up and expected to get in (except for a very few, special games), who would still go on their own special days if it was possible. For many years, I didn't even know that one could have a season ticket!

Probably a belief that you seniors can't or don't use the internet so are unable to utilise the exchange/forwarding process.
 
Is it possible to transfer a ticket for a single game from a season ticket holder to a member who just has a standard (free) membership?

From the T&Cs:

‘Only MyForest Members can receive any Forwarded / Upgraded ticket. Supporters can Forward / Upgrade to anyone with a registered Customer Number who has purchased a MyForest Membership with us – they can either be linked to the supporters MyForest Network, or they can search for any intended recipient during the process (see the walkthrough guide for more information).’

Seriously though, I think there is a reasonableness (is that a word) to this as long as the club don’t go too “local council big brother” on us.

Can seniors transfer to juniors ( members ) on a match by match basis & is there a max number per season ( I note that seniors not limited to a min no of games attended ).
Assume no add cost?

I expect that by the turn of the next decade the senior discount will be no more. I paid exactly half-price for my seat when I became eligible for one when I turned 65 in 2014, but the percentage has gradually become less-and-less over recent years.

I'm fortunate in that I'm in a position to be able to accept that as long as the savings are passed-on to our younger and future supporters.

My dad is still pissed that they did away with the over-80 discount a few years ago.
 
I'm possibly repeating what's been discussed in an earlier thread here, at least partially, so apologies for that. Interested in supporters' opinions on the club's ticket forwarding policy. So, there is one PL home fixture I'm unable to attend (work commitment). A friend can use the ticket, but (if I've understood the T&Cs) will have to pay £45 to become a member (to be able to have the ticket forwarded to him) plus the price for the ticket. Previously, this would have been done, legitimately, using the (free) family and friends network. It was a simple case of trusting those you forward the ticket to (and the club trusting you in trusting them!) A quick survey of other PL clubs' T&Cs on ticket forwarding/exchange shows for example Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City still operate a "friends and family" network, free to add individuals and transfer ticket to them (and free for those individuals).

I tend to disagree with this,Frank.

You and I have both been lifelong supporters and have held season tickets for decades through thick and thin and I
think it’s appropriate for the club to recognise that level of support in our later years.

I agree with your point about our younger supporters and was pleased when I saw the club had relaxed the age
requirements for concessions back to what they were.

Forest is supposedly a family club and I believe supporters at both ends of the age spectrum should be looked after accordingly.

And I don't disagree with you Norman. I'd rather it didn't happen, but it seems that it's the way in the PL in order to maximise potential income - IIRC, Spurs removed the senior concession entirely last season, and I don't doubt that those clubs who haven't also done it already will follow suit, including us.

Yes they can (or at least they could last season). I’m not aware of any limit to the number of times you can do this - don’t think there is one. One of my family did this three times last season with no issues.

A number of Clubs have a similar rule regarding non-use of season tickets.
However, while Forest are only following the pack, I think the 1,000 unused every game is a made-up number.
If they collect the data at each game then I would expect them to publish an accurate season’s average, and I doubt a round 1,000 is the answer.
I also doubt the Club collect the data on a regular basis.

I too can't see where they got this number from. I wonder if it includes away tickets - Fulham, Brentford & Bournemouth don't always sell their allocation. There is a guy behind me in block r LBC - who has been to the WFCG once since we were promoted. I also saw him at the Play Off Final. I don't understand why he has a season ticket.

Just back from 10 days in Rhodes so catching up on news...

1) There's no way there's 1000 spare seats at every league game. Certainly not in the home ends.

2) I received my season card through whilst away but it looks like it's a static QR code rather than rolling. Is that correct?
 
I think there could easily be 1,000 single seats spare across all 4 stands (not including away section). That's only 250 per stand - spread out over all the different rows and blocks I don't think they'd be that noticeable to the naked eye. There are always a few around if I crane my neck, so assume plenty others elsewhere.
