Honestly I'd say most people including me think Pre Season means nothing but in reality it really does set the tone for the season.

2022/23 Pre season - All over the place mainly due to players coming in late. Relegation battle
2023/24 Pre Season - Abysmal plus we had George Shelvey in goal for our last game of pre season - Relegation battle mainly due to the 4pts deducted. 10pts clear
2024/25 - Very good and settled. Got European Football
2025/26 - Woeful. 1 goal in 7 games. Nuno gave up as there didn't seem to be much tactical instruction. Now we are on our third manager and hopefully last this season. Currently 18th

Pre-season is HUGE.

Results don't always reflect how good or bad it's going, but it lays the foundation for the entire season for sure.

This is why I thoroughly detest Nuno so much. It was clear he was looking to get out of the club, but any decent manager would have done that and still set the season up to succeed still. A decent human being would be feeling grateful for the support which the fans, the club and the players gave them for the previous season, and so they could have exited honourably and left us in as good a condition as possible.

Nuno did the exact opposite, and is reason number 1 why we're in this mess now. I'm gutted we've already played West Ham at the CG, because Nuno deserves the most hate-fueled reception anyone has had at the CG for years.

When Pornhub announced their viewings are down 77% since age verification checks came in to place I was a bit skeptical about the stat, thought that sounded too much.

But then reading @Alf-engelos Mindminackers post and seeing how much frustration and anger is built up against Nuno I realise the 77% only came from him, need to get himself a VPN.
The viewings won't be 77% down...

This VPM malarky is doing my utter nut in

Gaming sites are trying to charge me extra tariff tax in Canadian dollars, British based sports stations won't let me listen to them unless I disconnect, and it's sods law that it all locks up or recalibrates just as I'm on the vinegar stroke when knocking one out.

I think the hardest decision I'd ever have to make in my life would be if you put Starmer and Nuno in a room with me and told me I could only beat one of them up.

Your 3rd option would be to give yourself an uppercut and knock yourself out so you don’t have to make that decision😉

So ‘if’ this squad is unfit, and ‘if’ that was mainly down to a poor pre season, then it kind of suggests that some fundamental basics were overlooked. Which is poor.
For me it seemed clear we had issues from seeing the pre season games. I and a few others expressed concerns that we weren't scoring and were hit with the 'it's only pre-season' stuff. Lo and behold we're a quarter of the way into the season and couldn't score if we walked into a brothel with a wallet full of 50s.

As well as not scoring there just seemed a lack of intensity, even by the chilled out standards of friendlies. It makes a lot of sense now looking back that mentally Nuno had checked out and so either subconsciously or not dropped his focus by a few percent which rubbed off on the players.

Need to get yourself a router that takes a VPN then set up each device to separate servers.

I admire your hate here. i hope you are able to express yourself in January at the new Upton Park!

Good signs so far under Dyche, the work ethic today was far better than last weekend, players busting a gut to get back into shape and getting behind the ball to make it harder for teams to break us down. I thought we were also effective at winning the ball back in key areas and should've probably had a goal from the attacks we sprung from those transitions. Neco in particular shone at this and looks to be thriving under Dyche so far.

Seeing the shift in the Premier League this season, with more teams favouring a direct approach (long throws, set pieces etc) I would like to see us start to implement that into our game over the coming weeks and months. I know this stuff takes a lot of work but under Dyche with his reputation you'd like to think he can make us effective at defending set pieces which is of the highest priority, but also be effective at attacking set pieces too. If we can add that to our game it could count for a lot of points over the course of the season.

The pre season couldn't have been that bad especially the way we came out and played brentford off the pitch?

Nuno leaving left a bitter taste towards him but I think thats a tad far?

Underestimating just how poor Brentford were in the first half.
I dont think I am to be fair, yes they lost players but they are still 12th at present In The table. Id say they are still a decent side but we were decent and nuno hadn't quite thrown in the towel at that stage

Where they are now has no relevance. They were utter garbage for those first 45 minutes, made a change or two at half time and the game was completely different.
