With the hardest fixtures of Porto and Betis out the way, we can afford to make changes in Europa and we'd still probably qualify for the knockout stages; truthfully should be beating some of these European teams with a changed 11; Malmo, Graz, Utrecht, Ferencvaros should be manageable, Braga is the toughest one. Of course, we should have beaten Midtjylland and we all know what happened there!

I’d say we have a par-score points-wise given that a point away was a good result and I’d have expected a win vs Midtylland but probably to lose to Porto.

Calling Nuno a failure for taking a team tipped for relegation to a game away from the CL is a f***ing stretch even for this forum.

No one called him a failure. I said it was his failure to cement us in the EL & CL which resulted in a window that meant we had to hang around for signings.
At the beginning of last season we would have sold our souls for a place in the conference league.
But to have gone from such a strong position of a Champions League place in February to slipping down to Conference League due to poor form by the end of the season is on Nuno.
But maybe if Palace hadn’t have fvcked up their paperwork we would have had a clearer view of which players were needed for the very easy task of winning the Conference League? Instead we were left in limbo until UEFA and CAS had finished.
It’s ironic that Palace blame us for their misfortune but in reality it’s us that have been fvcked over by Palace.

Nuno is still a twunt for engineering his own sacking though.

Bakwa and Kali seem to have the talent but somehow don’t use it, but that was under AP so god knows what their instructions were.

I think Dyche will be giving everyone clear and direct objectives, I mean every player so they can all drop into his system when needed.

Agree that the league is the number one priority now, so quite a few of the second team will be getting game time in Europe.
Think we can qualify for the knock out stages, at that point we will know who can do what and how best to play them.

Can’t believe I’ve just stated that the EL needs to take second place, freaking crazy thought really.

How can anyone tell this from the tiny amounts of game time they’ve both had?

Oh, sorry forgot, we can write players off before they’ve even kicked a ball for us, can’t we?
It’s a forum, everyone has their opinions and so should it be.
Don’t remember writing anyone off and both have already played, granted not much time though.

Try all you like babes. You called Nuno a failure.

Sigh.

Amazing that after all these posts you still can't grasp that failure to qualify for Europe and failure to do so in a way which means we're better positioned to get early signings are two different things.

You can still achieve your goal, but fail to do it optimally.

But I guess at least you've not defaulted to calling me racist because you're losing an argument.

I'll take that as an improvement from you.

Bakwa showed flashes of something against Arsenal when he came on and then looked scared of his own shadow when he played after, so unsure what Ange said to him.

Kali looked like a competition winner when he’s played so far, he’s one who would’ve benefitted from us having a cup run or two IMO.

Dyche will not allow his players to show the lack of effort and desire that was evident in the first half on Sunday.
If he has to play our energy players before the "skilful" ones, he will.
Kick some ass Sean!
Morgan, Anderson, CHO and Luiz might be in for a torrid time.

Bakwa looked terrified of receiving the ball from the game I saw him play in the Europa.

That’s because he didn’t run into space to receive the ball, he had to somehow hold it up on the wing and track back…. Total waste of his talent really. That’s AP tactics. Bakwa will def get his chance against Manure though. There’s no way such a disgrace of a first half performance against Bournemouth will go unnoticed. Let’s see if the players have balls. Thursday football…. Blah blah…. Bollox

I think Nuno did remarkably well to get us into any European competition,Alf.

I think the Europa League v Conference League argument did no one any favours (most of all Forest).

Also the EM charging onto the pitch after the Leicester game didn’t help at all.
Not to the extent where it deterred Nuno from signing a new contract a few weeks later though Norman. He didn't appear to have a communication problem with EM then, despite Edu already being in situ.

I’ve really no idea what happened behind the scenes,Frank-but as an outsider it appeared to me that there was bad blood between Nuno and Edu which quite possibly reared it’s head after Nuno signed his new contract.

As for EM entering the pitch against Leicester I still maintain it wouldn’t have enhanced the relationship between
Nuno and EM (whether Nuno signed a new contract or not).

If he had an issue with EM or the club he should have aired it at the end of the season and he shouldn’t have signed a new contract. End of story. He’s a mercenary.

I don’t think the Leicester incident (whilst unhelpful and unprofessional) would necessarily have meant the end of the relationship between Nuno and EM.

I’m fairly certain the introduction of Edu was the real problem.

Otis stated correctly that Nuno signed his new contract after Edu joined but it’s quite plausible problems didn’t
occur until after this (I’ve been in situations at work where a new man arrives and seems okay but it becomes clear down the line that the relationship isn’t going to work).

I’m not defending Nuno but something has gone badly wrong at Forest which is threatening to take the club back into the wilderness.

My take is that several poor decisions were made which has caused the current situation.

You’re right that’s possible, but does Edu have a history of blowing up relationships with people that he’s working with? And does Nuno?

If the disagreements were just on football matters does that justify setting preseason on fire? Because from the outside looking in it seems like the action of a bit of a man-baby.

I certainly haven’t got a portrait of Nuno in my living room (he’s certainly damaged Forest but I don’t think it’s
fair to pin all the ‘blame’ for the current problems on him as some seem to be doing).

Perhaps EM could have read the situation better?

Yeah, Ange prioritised keeping possession over doing anything with it. Hopefully when we see Bakwa again he'll have been encouraged to actually attack the full back.
