Things that have gone wrong this season:
  • Summer transfer window
  • Appointment of Edu rocking the boat with Nuno
  • Nuno throwing toys out of the pram and failing to get players match fit for the start of the season
  • Nuno's unusual picks for the Europa squad
  • Subsequent departure of Nuno
  • Ange debacle leading to a third manager appointment in f**king October
  • Wood and Aina injuries
  • Reliable players of last season becoming inconsistent (Murillo, Milenkovic, CHO, Sels, even MGW and Anderson)
  • Sending back up striker on loan when other strikers either injured or not up to it
  • Rotation of squad not working, as second string poor and links back to first point
  • Dyche questionable tactics
  • Not bolstering squad in January - still time, but atm one striker won't be enough
It's absolutely right that Dyche should be questioned, that's why he's on the list above, but atm we're blaming him for 100% of the problems when all the s**t that has happened is a collective blame for the club. This is not a defence of Dyche, as I'm critical of him. Just hope we can somehow get the points needed to survive, then a serious rethink in the Summer.

All the above are true - but for a lot of those, what is done is done. There's a reasonable case that the summer signings barring Hutchinson have not improved the squad, however SD is absolutely responsible for the tactics and our lack of attacking threat.
People can point at the lack of goals from Jesus, or the lack of Wood, but he's never had Wood.
For me, a great coach is able to look at the players he has, understand strengths and weaknesses, and get a tune out of them. Maybe West Ham are starting to see the truth in that with Nuno.
SD has us lumping crosses in, Sels and CBs going long, and slowly-built attacks from wide places which are as ineffective as they are predictable.
Earlier wins like Liverpool and Spurs came when we met teams in appalling form, but there have been too many games like Braga, like Everton (twice!), like Fulham, even like West Ham to say "we're better than this". This is how he has us playing.
We're completely at the mercy of fate for this season. Unless there's someone in the club already who can step in and deliver better results, then we're with Dyche till the end of the season.

I think that concisely and succinctly sums it up very fairly.

Yes lots of things have gone wrong this season, but it is down to Dyche tatics that we have next to nothing in attack. Kicking up the ball to Jesus when no other player is anywhere near him, is just bloody stupid. We are toothless going forward, and when things go wrong he does not change anything.
We will see tomorrow if the team are still playing for him, but the pressure is really on now.

Surely if he want CL so much we would be going all out to win it?

Ever since we were complete toss against Bournemouth, Dyche has fielded weaker teams in the EL. I think it’s for more to do with his concern over keeping us up than anything else.
I think the club hierarchy realise we are in trouble and probably accepted that we can’t really risk our best players
chasing an unlikely CL place.

I’m afraid poor management at the club has meant our tilt at Europe has been disappointing and likely to end
fairly soon.

The whole point of the summer recruitment was to have depth for the 3 Cup competitions.

Is only just dawning that they/manager's handling of them is severely lacking.

It will probably be half and half team for the last league match, then the first choice XI will play from the knockout rounds.

Sean Dyche may be a major reason why we can't get out of the mess we are in but if anyone blames him for us being in it then they are utterly wrong.

If Forest get relegated it isn't Dyche to blame, it's the owner and his inability to not want an ego trip by having a 'big name' at the club, be it Director of Football or manager.

Dyche is just the one who can't get us out of it.

Indeed but nor is it Dyche's fault that we have two wingers who seem scared of their own shadows let alone PL defences, who were both brought in during the summer, as well as two successive reserve keepers who couldn't even catch norovirus, a CM who is injured more often than he plays, a LB who can't defend, as well as only having 3 strikers in the squad one of whom is 34 and hasn't played since October time, one has been almost permanently injured for 4 years and is a shadow of what he was in the first 18 months we had him, and the other is more of a second striker/hold up player than someone to lead the line.

It's no surprise with a playing staff which is so unbalanced (in terms of CMs and wingers as opposed to FBs and strikers) and with so many gaping holes in terms of capabilities that 3 managers this season have failed to get anything out of any of them.

We can blame Dyche for a lot of things, but one we cannot is the playing squad, and the lack of a properly balanced squad is the main reason we are down where we are.

Not to mention that our expectations have been somewhat altered by the perfect storm last season where we had basically no injuries to key players for the majority of it, played a tactic which the division didn't feel like they wanted to counter until they saw how successful it was for us, and which we couldn't keep winning with for the whole of last season let alone this.

Makes sense to suggest that even with last season's team and tactics (including Elanga and a fully fit Wood) we'd probably be no better off

Marinakis will have been here for ten years this year, and most of the time he's presided over a shambles. He puts the money in but has no idea how to run a football club. Or he won't let people who do have an idea without meddling.

You are completely right, he has no idea how to run a football team.

I mean, getting Forest to the PL and in to Europe after so long, Olympiakos winning the conference league and Rio Ave currently the highest league place they have been(according to Transfermarket) really shows ineptitude.

I suppose you would be happier when us staying in the 2nd tier on goals scored on the last day is considered an achievement then Hannah. Because that's what happened just before EM bought the club. And before that the previous owner had even managed to get us relegated and spent 3 years in the third tier.

But then I guess you'd prefer us losing to Oldham and Yeovil under the ginger mourinho as well

I'm glad the fans at Braga gave our mollycoddled overpaid tossers a piece of their mind Thursday night. If they're not playing for Dyche then it's disgusting behaviour. They did the same with Ange. Maybe there's a pattern, maybe it's not all the managers fault.

Same happened with Psycho when he was in charge. They didn't like his management style and downed tools. A club legend.

Players are paid an absolute fortune to do a job and some are not doing it. Don't assume a 4th manager will get a tune out of this lot.

Marinakis is hot-headed, over ambitious and lacks judgment.

Without him we wouldn’t be in the Premier League. He makes mistakes like every owner and this season his flaws have come to the forefront, but to indicate it has been 10 shambolic years is an odd take.

Despite our current predicament, the past few years have been the best of my life as a Forest fan and that’s the same for anyone under 40.

His passion sometimes gets the better of him, but thank God for that. Yes mistakes have been made this season and other seasons but I would not swap him for any other owner.
This season everything bad that could happen is happening. However, I think he will get a unexpected player out of no-where to help us out on either on deadline day or just before. He can pull off amazing transfers and will not let us go down without a fight. Even if that means sacking another 2 managers this season.
