Saturday's Game Advice - from a Cardiff supporter

If you are travelling down on Saturday some advice.

A pub that welcomes away fans is the Landsdowne - it is a Cardiff pub but as long as you behave you can wear colours etc. Avoid the Ninian Park pub.

The walk from central station is quite long and can be intimidating so maybe get the local train to Ninian Park station and the ground is 5 mins away.

Just be a little careful there are a lot of Cardiff supporters with long memories of the miners' strike who hold a grudge.

If you behave to the Cardiff fans as you would want to be treated yourself, your behaviour will be reciprocated.

Have a good day out despite a 5-0 defeat - yes we are that good at the moment!

Why on earth would they hold a grudge about the miners strike, South Wales had not worked for years previously to the strike.

Also do you know how long ago the strike was, before no doubt Cardiff hooligans were twinkles in Taffy's eyes or at least they were still filling nappies.

I think you are on here, just to make out Cardiff are rock hard and something special, try another Forum, where they will welcome someone like you....

Miners strike ;D ;D ;D, learn that in a history lesson

My friend I came in peace and this is the "welcome" you offer ... tut, tut. I actually posted on here because several of the posters seemed like human beings but their musings on travelling down were a little off the mark.

Just FYI I think you need to stay/go back to school - your history teachers obviously duped you. Don't believe me on the miners' strike? See: http://www.ccmb.co.uk/fudforum/inde...2&S=e237421fd4b8d0163173bf0f5f3450c1#page_top

Oh, by the way, "ingrediant" (sic) has no "a" in it, innit? I won't bother with apostrophe usage ... LOL.

I hope we get 7 (SEVEN) now.

I leave it like that, so every smart arse can think they are original picking me up on it..............Lets face it, in South Wales, the Unions closed down so many Industries, you make Scousers seem hard working in comparison. History of the Miners Strike ;D ;D ;D You drank water, we drank wine doo da .

What type of welcome did you expect...............Aaaaaaaa thanks so much, you have saved our lives by telling us about Cardiff's Neanderthals. Every football fan knows that a certain section of Cardiff fans put on a show.......................though not very well in my day lol lol :sarcastic: :snack:

Come on Sedge. Be nice.

Thanks for the advice. Irrespective of how good both sets of fans are there will inevitably be those who wish to cause trouble. I suspect some of them weren't even born during the Miners' Strike.

I imagine there will be a visible Police presence to segregate the fans should it be needed and it's good to share the information relative to 'safe' watering holes to drink in et al.

Enjoy the game yourself and don't count your sheep before they've shagged!

There will be more 'scab' chants than brain cells, most certainly.

No doubt the Forest Chav Army will retort with 'what's it like to starve your kids...' and 'you'll never work again...'

I shall gladly join in with it too, because despite the bitter ravings of one or two it is little more than pantomime nonsense.

Segred I think you've been unfair to the lad.

Thanks and welcome, TBH we all have our own moronic support like others and hopefully the fans attending will take your advice and keep out of trouble.

How are Cardiff playing? Personally I think it will be a draw.. (or should I say I hope it will be) However our away form has been good this season, but we have a lot of injuries so taking a lot of you'ffs down! lol

Honestly, I really wish Cardiff fans were known for their fantastic welcome and that's why I post once in a while like this. Cardiff is a superb city and well worth the visit. Spend the morning down the Bay if you get here early enough.

We are due to give somebody a right hiding but we haven't scored more than 2 in any first team game this season. I think the Cov fans were actually happy to just lose by two.

I went to a Forest game in the mid-'80s when you won 2-0 but I can't remember who you played. It was a mid-week game and I got the bus up and down through the countryside from Loughborough.
