Yes, they will be desperate to "stay up" so that their 10 pt fine relegates them this year, thus starting next year in league 1 on a level playing field, as oppossed to -10

If they are in the bottom 3 then they start Div 1 on -10 so they'll be determined to finish outside the bottom 3 . They could in theory be above another team and then get 10pts removed at the end of the season.

in truth not a great deal has changed. We were 4 points clear of Southampton anyway, they were always likely to go down, regardless of off field matters.

Yep. There is no way they can avoid relegation!

If they finish above the relegation zone, they get docked 10 points this season. That will be enough to relegate them!

(If they finish inside the relegation zone before the deduction, they go down and start next season on -10)

For confirmation people, if Southampton were to stay up on points, then they would be deducted the 10 points. However, if without the 10 point deduction they were relegated, they will have to start League One next season on -10.

Simple as that!
