Glasner basically saying there is 5 yards difference and that is all to Yates playing as a 6 or as a part of a 3 - I'd love to see this work personally
If it works, Glasner will be lauded as a genius, who sees roles and abilities beyond traditional positions.
If it fails, he’ll be a clueless numpty putting square pegs in round holes.
Such is the life of a manager.

Possibly as soon as against Coventry if Milenkovic, Jair Cunha and Murillo all don't make it.
And I wouldn't be against it, his height would be useful against Cov.
I think we'll manage Murillo through this game with injections or something then give him 3 weeks to recover and rehabilitate.

As for Yates, I can't see it in midfield that's for sure as he's probably 5th choice and we're just not playing enough games to warrant the rotation. Perhaps in defence with an injury crisis but it doesn't seem like Milenkovic or Cunha have particularly serious knocks.

I'd be shocked if he wasn't looking for a move to be honest. Fans can talk about being Mr Nottingham Forest but ultimately it's a short career and he should be in his absolute prime right now and barely kicks a ball which he can't possibly be happy with. I'm guessing after a couple of contract renewals he's on more money than the type of clubs that would look at him can pay.

I can't see Yates moving myself. He's got a long-term career here both as a player still and as an ambassador/Forest representative for the rest of his life.

It's all right saying he's going to move for a few years playing, but I think it makes far more sense just for him to transition to coaching and representing Forest, and he could work the rest of his life here, which is way better than uprooting just to spend a few years at a bollocks club like West Ham.

I dont think leaving would necessarily tarnish his legacy in a way that meant he couldn't come back and fulfil any of those roles after (if he even wants to). It hasn't stopped the likes of Andy Reid.

He's only 28 and is a consummate professional so with the way he looks after himself could have another 10 years of playing left. As a fan I'd like him to be here in his current role but with a player's hat on it seems a shame to essentially waste your prime years not playing.

I don't think anyone would begrudge him moving elsewhere to be a starter. It doesn't mean his ties with forest are cut forever and love for the club etc wouldn't for me be as important as at least playing the game I've trained my whole life to do. You can always be welcomed back to the place of work if you leave on good terms. (Advice I've never taken as I've left the last two jobs unceremoniously by flicking the middle finger or threatening to twat the boss)

Me either, but it's more all the ballache of uprooting just for a few years.

We'll see, but it's a harder for footy players to carve out a post-playing career than some may think. Unless you're a draw name, like Rooney, most places outside of club's which have affection for you will ignore you (mate of mine played for the dippers in the MON Euro days, and the best offer he got was in Australia, then he dropped to Worksop town, and left to do normal jobs after that). Ryan's onto a sure thing here.

We'll see though, owt could happen.

A loan move to Notts County wouldn't be bad for him , gives him guaranteed playing time there and just over the river , Forest can still pay his wages and recall him if needed .

He was a regular in the season we finished 7th. I think he's above league one standard. Unless it was a veiled dig.

I was joking and know his quality is higher ;-) , but I would like to see Notts get promoted and aim for the Premier League in next 5 years . It would be great for the city having both local teams in the top league and away games won't be far to travel 😄

Know of us know anything unless we delve inside his head.

He either wants to play football or it's more important for him to stay at Forest and at home.

There's no right or wrong answer, only what is right for the individual. Personally I'd always want to be playing but Yatesy might be happy with his current role and life

He seems the type that would be quite happy staying at Forest his entire career, even if it meant hardly playing from here on in. He's lived the dream playing for the club he loves and he'll retire a multi millionaire.

And if he did leave, i think he'd want to live in the area still which would mean options of either both Sheffield clubs or West Midlands clubs.

He would be an absolute shoe-in for pundit work on Radio Nottingham. Would bet my house on it

Do you think we will see him play again anytime soon ?
He will need to move to get game time because Forest have finally outgrown him.

He's probably going to end up at a Championship team.

That will bring a certain grim satisfaction to a number of people who will nod sagely and tell us that they always said 'he isn't good enough'.

They will never admit they were wrong when they were actually talking about top half of League 1 and not top half of the Premier League.

He's lived the dream of many Forest fans and we should celebrate that.

Instead of which, jealousy seems to eat so hard at some that they can't wait to put him down at the slightest opportunity.

I'll freely admit he has achieved far more than I ever thought he would. I also think the way some have treated him is nothing short of disgraceful.

I can see Premier League teams fighting for survival coming for him in January.
