Just like Burnley offered guaranteed starts to Joe Worrall?

If anything, I think Joe's story makes it very, very unlikely that Ryan leaves. He's seen his mate take that course and it's just led to a different bench that next year will be back in the Championship. I think Ryan will be very happy with what his career looks like here myself. He's guaranteed to be on the bench at least in every game if he's fit (the homegrown record and all that) and he regularly comes on and makes a contribution. There is nothing to suggest that the Coventrys of this world would guarantee him a starting place and his leadership here as club captain means something too.

There's virtually no chance he's going anywhere in my view.
This.

Yatesy's place in the squads of other lower-table PL clubs isn't the same as his place in our squad. His importance for Forest elevates his status, compared to any other player with the same playing profile and attributes. Why would he leave? Is he taking someone else's place? I struggle to think of who that might be. No one else could be Mr Forest.

He isnt going to leave its ridiculous to think so. People still after all these years seem to underestimate his importance to the squad and his love for the club.

He has never, ever, let Forest down, and he never will.

I’ll make the trip from Germany for Ryan Yates‘ Testimonial.

Do you think he's happy starting 2 Premier League games out of 36 thus far?

That has nothing to do with his importance to the squad. There can come a time where your love for the club is tested. That time may have come.

I don't think anyone is saying we should get rid.

Ryan will celebrate his 500th appearance with Nottingham Forest.

Not for a little while yet but it’s on the cards. ☺️

Yeah surely if Yates rates himself as a Premier League standard player he would back himself to get a move and play more.

If I was him though I'd stay put, if last year's recruitment is enough to go by we could drop £100m trying to replace Anderson and probably end up playing Yates anyway.

I also think if we brought a younger playing in like Hackney, Yates is very valuable squad depth.

Yates got 18 starts and 35 games overall in the prem 24/25 in a team fighting for Champion League qualification. So apart from last season he's been a regular first team option.

Last season he was unlucky he got injured when Sangare went to AFCON. With Anderson leaving, Sangare fitness issues and Dominguez moving into various roles I still think Yates has a significant role to play.

He's shown himself to be a competent top flight midfielder which is testament to his drive and effort. A true asset to everybody at the club.

If any new Centre Midfielders overtake him and he has another season on the periphery, maybe then he'd look at a move but i think it'd be premature with the upheaval in his position.

My man Yatesy supporting my daughter‘s old school in Rudd; he is accompanied by another Ruddington resident (on the left) who may be familiar to readers of this parish:

Super Chrissy Cohen is still in the area. I saw him at the Rushcliffe School on Monday evening with his daughter who was sporting a Lincoln City shirt

He still has a house in Rudd, it’s where he and his wife and daughter lived when he played for Forest.

His daughter and mine aren’t far off in age, I had a nodding acquaintance with him when I lived in Rudd, based on that.

Also, he’s a genuinely lovely bloke (for anyone who’s never met him).

Oh and Yatesy is just Yatesy; if you don’t love him, well, there’s no hope for you.

Guy in the tie looks a bit like Billy Walker. Can't be, can it?
Not sure VP, to be honest.

The chap on the right is Mr. Bradley, who is the headmaster of the school (and Mr. Bradley is a massive Forest fan, and he even got Steve Cooper to turn up - completely unprompted - to give a lecture to the students).

I never thought Chris cohen was so tall. I’d have had him as 5ft 11 but he must be 6ft 2 at least as Yates is pretty tall.
He isn't and I can tell you that as I've met him several times. I mean, I am 166cm (or 5 foot 6 in old money) and he is about four inches taller than me, or thereabouts.

That’s what I thought. He looks taller in that photo though don’t you think?

He does. Platform shoes, is my only guess!

I hope he never leaves obviously. If he gets no premier league starts next season and wants to leave for a couple of years to play more games then a) I hope he doesn't but b) I wish him all the very best if he does, and as soon as that chapter is over we get him back straight away to coach/assistant manage / whatever.

Forest Legend, and my favourite player. His long-range goal in the Europa league was my favourite moment of last season.
