Excellent comrad ! Is there a big following over there ? How did you begin following Forest ?

Do we have a links page for all foreign Forest sites ?

I really don't mean to be rude asking this, but what's your local Russian team, and why don't you support them?

Do you think we shouldnt pass another league ground on our way to home matches? :nowink:

As they say for us : One does not interfere with other :)

For many fans in Ukraine and Russia the English clubs are something magic, possessing rich history and traditions. An infatuation for English football does not mix to go for a stadium in home town.

Forest is popular enough in Ukraine and Russia, here very respect Brian Clough. There are people, being support club yet from times of his glorious team.
Fans can a bit, but people of sympathizing with your team more than enough. For example I belong to the number the last.

I just think supporting my local team is the right thing to do. My brother is from Nottingham, and supports Man Ure. I'll still be calling him plastic, and I don't care how many other grounds he drives past or when ;D

So if you met a Forest fan from somewhere many miles from Nottingham, lets say for the sake of argument Ipswich, would you question why they support Forest and suggest they should be supporting Ipswich?

It really is a true testament to Cloughies days that so many people around the world follow Forest still and reguard them as part of their lives.
It would be great to get a few of these sites from abroad to bring their members for a weekend !

Sometimes we don't choose but choose us. Often football club chooses you and fills your heart and soul. I do not know why.
I can be far away from one or other club but the club is a part of my life.
Someone is enamoured in Forest, someone in other club.
My friend, for example, the Ukrainian and lives in Kiev but he's supporter of Ipswich. And nobody can impose a ban for him heart

I think it's fantastic mate. I'd love it if Forest could try and schedule pre-season friendlies in the areas of supporters clubs abroad !

It reads like you would rather be supporting someone else but put up with being a forest fan because you're trying to do the right thing. What if you move to manchester some day?

When i moved away from nottingham i thought it might be sensible to swap girlfriend and football team to ones nearer my new home. Swapping girlfriends to a local lass was quite easy, swapping football team was a non-starter!

There's a big difference between plastic fans 'supporting' a top 4 club as though it then gives them the right to engage in discussions with any actual football fan.... And people from across the world choosing to support Forest because they genuinely like the club.

Anyway Forest are my 4th closet team so leave us alone! :p

We brought 16 to Palace, and all together our 350-400 members have been to over a 1000 games in total.
Do understand where you are coming from, when you're asking why we are not supporting our local teams, but here the football is on from April to October, so it doesn't interfere much with those who also follow a Norwegian team... for me personally, I've never been that bothered with local football, since I don't have much of a local professional team around where I live. And when I first started watching football, the Premier League was on TV several times a week, and Norwegian football didn't get much time on the air...

It holds back football in other countries and encourages our teams to get franchised and 39th game'd.

No I wouldn't support anyone but Forest if I moved. I live in D*rby at the moment FFS! I'm Nottingham born and bred though :)

I'm not knocking anybodies right to support whoever they want, I'm just pointing out the problems with it.

Well since there's maybe 100.000 that's travelling to Liverpool and Manchester every season from around these parts, I don't think the 100-150 tickets we buy at Forest every season makes that much of a difference...
Do understand where you're coming from though, and I would feel the same way, if I were supporting a local team... I guess..

I don't see it has holding back foreign leagues. I live in a small village in Greece and the majority of people here have an English team as well as a Greek one. None of them actually ever go to watch thier Greek team, partly because they support AEK and Athens in the other side of the country, but it still doesnt stop them watching almost every live Greek match on tele (which are more than the amount of English games we get at home) and believe me, the quality of the Greek Super League is not that high. Even the local village non league team gets a racous following every week, it's exactly the type of grass roots support we lack in England....anway I'm loosing my point here...what I really meant to say was...

If you were really a Forest fan, you'd never live in Derby
