Running down their contract

I saw recently that Coventry are looking to sell Leon Best in January as they are worried he is running down his contract and Sheffield United seem to be trying to offload Kilgallon because his is running down and he has rejected their latest offer.

I'm not saying we should be looking at either of these but players going for free or less than their true value shortly before their contract expires seem to be increasing or at least I've just been noticing more of it.

Does anyone know where there is a list (even if it's speculative) of who is out of contract at the end of the year because if we're around the same place when the transfer window opens I wouldn't be suprised if this was to be the year we spent midseason. We'll most likely be linked with Best again as we always are but I doubt we'd be considering him unless Tyson and Garner are to be utilised as midfielders on a regular basis now and even then I think we'd have to offload a current striker quite possibly Earnshaw but I don't think that would be a wise mood even though Best looks to be developing into a good player now and has played well this season so far. Kilgallon I would love to see here but with other clubs linked there's slim to no chance of it happening especially as he'll be holding out for premiership wages even if it isn't with a top flight team.

Leon Best?

Linked with Forest?

Leon Best? Who?

:D

Normally players we miss out on turn out to be cack.

Wasn't that Neil Danns playing for Palace at the weekend? He was rubbish.

Had lunch with a Reading fan yesterday who can't for the life of him work out why they spent pretty much all of their summer transfer budget on Matt Mills as 'he's a steaming pile of turd.'

Haha that's what we like to hear. I don't see Rob Jones pulling any trees up at Scunny either, despite some on here claiming him as some kind of superman.

And as for Barker ......... :D :D :D

See! Things always turn out okay in the end :)

Well, except when you sell Reid and Dawson, then they turn out in League 1 ... but usually!

Beckford is out of contract at the end of the season.

I imagine the fact that he's in double figures already for the season, and Leeds have basically said to anyone coming near 'f*** off', means he'll be given a new contract.

In the unlikely event that Leeds aren't promoted he might go, but I just can't see them not romping the league this year.

Come January he can negotiate a deal elsewhere, and get more money through not coming with a transfer fee.

He was offered a new deal in the summer and rejected it.

I think the chances of Beckford remaining with Leeds beyond this season are slim.

Beckford has only pledged his future to Leeds for the rest of this season.

He'll sign for one of the promoted Premiership teams on a free I reckon.

Is he good enough for the Premiership?

Leeds will be a big club in the Championship next season, that's about his level.

Of course, he ay prefer somewhere that guarantees he'll be paid every month...

Beckford is not even proven in the Championship yet.

However, Leeds will be dangerous next year.

But if they were here they'd be incredible because Lee Camp would have inspired confidence in them making them world class such is his effect on defenders apparently.
