Apparently the last weekend of the Festival will be when I'll be there with the fam! The kiddos are almost 11 and 8, and we were thinking whether it's worth spending half of our full day in Nottingham there, or just going to Wollaton Park and doing the Caves. I'll also try and convince them that the single most essential thing to do that day is the City Ground tour, but if we go to the festival, that's probably off.

Does the festival end at 5pm? Because the regular working hours of the Visitor Centre are 10 to 5.

The City Ground tour is very good but before you try to persuade them to do it check there’s still availability for the day and time you have in mind as they take 20 people per tour and they fill up quickly.

I'm not sure what time the festival finishes, but that sounds about right because the second live show was at half three.

We'd got reservations for a meal with friends, so we only watched the first show. But if I were to squeeze it all into one day, I'd probably turn up about half eleven, have a wander around the stalls, watch the first show, then go to the bar that's local and watch the cricket there for an hour or so, check out some more of the stalls, and then stay for the second show after.

Nice one, mate. Was that the afternoon show? Because we missed that, we had to leave a bit early.

This was a small, two man comedy show near the Major Oak that we watched about 11am.

We then headed to the main jousting/medieval show and managed to find some shade under a tree. Close to the bar obviously....
