Agreed. Ive been in there a few times (on freebies). Nice to be in the warm, but they have speakers which try to pipe in the atmosphere from outside, but it doesnt work.

When my lad was younger, I got him a party at Forest which included a tour of the ground including the changing rooms and Robin Hood suite. Its dated, but it'll do you.

Obviously, the Pitch is of more recent construction and would be nicer decorated. For the fan who likes it oldschool, Id stay where you have it booked.

I agree about the seating area - however if you are in the bar area early enough you get to meet some of the old Forest players. I know McGoven and Burns are normally about most match days. Pretty good as you get to have a chat with them
 
I'm lucky enough to have had lots of opportunities to do that before - but yes, that is a good perk :)

They advertise the Castle Club as the bottom rung on the hospitality ladder but I dont think it is used that way. When I've been in there I got the impression its used by people that would rather be indoors (very young or old) and winners of shelf-stacker-of-the-week. An adult renewal season ticket in there works out at about £25 a game.
 
Those who deride the area I sit in, namely the Upper Trent End can't possibly know what the atmosphere is like there because they are too busy brawling in VCC or A Block. We do have a sing sometimes and the view is tremendous.
I had one of my stag do's in the Pitch Diner. I really regret the fact that it's not open during the week. Perhaps they should re-open it as an Indian and try to open it say Fridays and Saturdays to start with. Great view from there especially in summer. It seems like a wasted asset (Mark Arthur, if you're reading this!).

Amen to that, especially the view aspect.

Aside from about 1 block to my right, there really, REALLY isn't a seat in the ground I'd rather have than the one I've got, on the front row of T5. The view really is magnificent, and yes, I have sat everywhere else in the ground to compare.
 
I've sat in many different parts of trent end upper, left, middle, right, front, middle and back.

The view is fab. At the front you are close to the players and get the best view of the penalty area but the view of the other area isn't very good. At the back the view of both penalty areas is fab. The atmosphere is better the further back you sit.

I have a seat on the front row of the middle block there and I think its the best seat in the ground. I've been to all sides, front and back of every other stand and sampled all flavours of hospitality but I think my seat is the best.

Each to their own.
 
Middle of Upper Clough is a graveyard, but good view, same view as if you were watching on the tellybox.
 
No it isn't, the TV cameras would generally be filming from the Main Stand...
 
The whole 'Atmosphere is better in that section than this section' arguement really is splitting hairs.

I think I've sat in every area of the City Ground at some point in my life and the equation is simple: Forest playing well = atmosphere good, Forest playing crap = atmosphere not good.

I think Upper Trent is may favourite view though.

I don't think it's too pedantic to point out that a view that is the polar opposite of that broadcast on TV could be considered to be different...
 
I used to be in the oldTrent End - those were the days. For me the Trent End and Brian Clough stand are too quiet and lack atmosphere. The view may be good but it's like sitting in a doctors waiting room. I'm now in B bLock and love it - singing for nearly 90 minutes and enjoying every moment.

Every home game I wish Trent End and Brian Clough stand would sing more - we should created an atmosphere which intimidate away teams.

When Trent End sing it's fantastic - I can't imagine how good it would be if Brian Clough stand joined in too!

Please get behind the team and sing your hearts out - make the mighty City Ground a fortress!
 
The time to go to the Pitch Diner was in 1990 during a reserve game when the entire first team would be at the bar.

I don't get on here during the day.

The Robin Hood and 1865 are alright but it is like going back in time (if you're young it might look like that Life On Mars programme) Ex players usually knocking around and happy to talk about the old days. The Pitch is like a weatherspoons but without the weatherspoons prices.
 
The Robin Hoods very dated but after they gave the 1865 a tart up last season I think its quite good
