He's a really useful utility player in a team like City that regularly has 75%+ possession, but I think for the kind of fee we'd need to pay for him he'd have to start, and I'm not sure I'd have him in our starting 11.
Tbh, just the fact that in the last 12 months he's had several England caps and started most of Citys games sets a baseline on the fee. Whether he's worth it or not I've got no idea, but on paper City would feel justified in bumping up the price.

He has some ridiculous skills on the ball when he fancies it (against us in the semi for one). But to scoff at this signing would be madness, 20 years old with 100 odd appearances for a machine like City under Pep. I don't think he's going to flatline, just like McAtee in that regard.

Get what you're saying, but with the number of games we have we need to move away from the idea that we'll have one set first 11 that always plays when fit. He will get plenty of starts, especially given he could rotate with Aina, Williams, Yates, Dominguez, Sangare, etc.

Yeah it's sort of difficult to nail down isn't it because of how city play they have that rotating triangle where the full backs will rotate into the midfield area quite often.
Not sure that is enough for me.
He was trusted in what was considered their worst season in many years and is now looking to get rid of him.
Obviously we aren’t at the same level but I’d be cautious of trying to sign someone non specialist with the promise of playing RB when he is inferior in that position to Aina - who is also incredibly crucial to the dressing room

I think we need to accept that £25m doesn’t buy a nailed on starter for the level we are aspiring to. Lewis would be great as he can cover so. Many position, guaranteed starter in Euro matches in one position or an other and will feature in most prem matches.

I think he's the exact type of young signing we should make. Extremely high ceiling, versatile, intelligent player and potential to make good profit if/when we sell him.
He might not be as good as Aina right now but Aina was arguably the best RB in the league so that's not a stick to beat him with. Aina was also a player that has improved with age and experience.
I'm absolutely all over this as a signing and if we can get it done then that's a tremendous piece of work from our recruitment team.

He looks semi-competent in a side that dominates the ball but is a bit of a liability defensively.
He's also not our profile type of signing. He's not particularly physical or fast. Most comparible to Williams but Williams is a nightmare to get past as he's terrier like, Lewis is not.
I am also sceptical given Man City are, according to rumours, happy to let him go for such a low valuation, despite him playing regularly for them last year.
