Rico Lewis (BUPA)

It's Baggio

Eugh, I shudder every time this thread is bumped.

Same, especially after watching Zinchenko play full back for half a season.

Even Pep binned off the technical inverted full backs having 100 touches a game gimmick for 2 powerful lads that can run up and down all day.

He has no outstanding traits. Tidy footballer but that's it.

He's not particularly quick, doesn't dominate in the tackle, and is small and not particularly strong. I've never noticed him reading the game like an Anderson either.

So not sure what we gain beyond a versatile backup who we'd pay through the nose for, both in fee and wages.

The question for me is, if Aina or Neco get injured, would you rather have to call on Savona, Abbott or Cunha or have someone like Rico Lewis? Personally I would prefer him but I do think for the price you could probably get someone better.

Don't like. Doesn't know how to defend properly and all over the place positionally. Might be a neat tidy player that can cover several positions, and that's fine in a Man City team that dominates possession, but in a Forest side he will just get exposed.

Most if not all of our signings will be imperfect / rough diamonds / cracked Manchurian vases. We have to (1) take a risk and (2) make them into better players than when they arrive. And to be fair we’re quite good at that. With Savona seemingly leaving, Aina losing form/getting injury prone and a need for cover in midfield, £25m seems OK to me.

Would be very happy with this, he’s a great young player, has great energy & can play anywhere. I am genuinely amazed so many turn their nose up at it, have they watched him?
Yes, watched him a lot. Flatters to deceive. Seems like a nice lad but I really don't rate him. Curtis Jones on the other hand, I'm all in

Well no, but that's because he doesn't get on the pitch much - last season in the league 11 games (7 as a sub) totalling 402 minutes. Better the season before 28 games (7 as a sub) 1891 minutes... but only 16 (8 as sub) the year before 806 minutes...

Strikes me that as he's an academy player and English he's been kept as a player to meet home grown requirements more than because he's an actual asset. Big fat no from me

You could be describing Anderson

Neither would be signing as a complete package, they are signing with immense potential in mind, these are the players we should be targeting

I hope we go for Lewis, he can play two positions we need to strengthen. Young, English. Good feet, quick. Lots of room for improvement. I would be very happy if we used the Andersson money on Lewis, Hinshelwood, Rowe and Jones. Versatile players who have played a lot of games in England and at a top level.

Overrated and Ummed and Ahhed about joining the club, to stay at City, sign a new deal and not play.
No thanks.
