Rico Lewis (BUPA)

“For me, I’ve never ever seen myself leaving,” Lewis said after helping City to secure a 4-0 win at Wolves on Saturday. “I’ve always wanted to play for City. It’s my dream. When I’m playing with the kind of players that I’m playing with, it brings out the best of me. So I’m so happy.”

Hmm, not happening. Next.

Apparently 'only' on £25k a week but inevitable he'll sign a new contract soon. We've been played.

Doesn’t matter. We need a left back anyway.
If the plan is to play a right footed winger we do need a left footed full back. So many times last season and today the area by the goal line was never moved into because both CHO and NW wanted to tuck in.

Moreno may not have been good enough and similar with Toffs but at least they had that skill.

I thought CHO hit the byline a lot today, certainly compared to usual.

He also cut in a lot more. His left foot isn't too bad but clearly his MO is to cut in and shoot, and why not? It comes off more than it should do and he executes it so well that you have to stop him shooting to have a good chance of it not leading to a goal.

He's a good player, but I don't think he is good enough to displace Aina or Williams for more than a handful of tired games, so sitting on City's bench makes more sense for him than ours. We are chronically short at full back though and probably need back ups that just "do a job" as our 2 starters are some of the best in the league and we're just a Europa team without the billions of City, Chelsea et al.

Someone like Toff?

Lewis is better in midfield than at full back imo

Think at this stage I'd rather see us bring in a left footed full back as opposed to another right footed one, even if Lewis can also cover midfield, when Nico comes back we will still have plenty of adequate options there other than some titch who's barely out of his teens and who doesn't appear to be the most intelligent.

We still need experience in the side and have brought in 3 really young players, one not much older, and the likes of CHO, Murillo, Williams might have been with us a couple of seasons now but are still under 25.

You dont think Sels Yates Milenkovic Aina Wood is enough experience ?

The younger players we have are also really experienced.

Hudson Odoi & MGW 200+ apps each.
Williams, Morato 150+

Our side definitely doesn't lack experience, it's not like we play with a naivety. I have never know a more professional Forest side.

I'd imagine Wood won't be playing 90 mins or starting every week, not with Arnie and Jesus signed.

Yates came off the bench on Sunday and in all likelihood that will be the usual thing for him this season, he is probably behind Ibra and Ando and probably also Nico as well. Though it's the kind of challenge Yates will rise to. And if we see Lewis as a midfielder, he will be competing with one of those, and when he plays, removing their experience from the side.

Ditto Aina if we see Lewis as a RB unless we move Aina to LB and drop Williams, But again, Aina has a bit of experience in Serie A and a season on loan to Fulham before joining us, not a lot in the PL which makes a lot of difference.

Sels maybe but it's difficult always to see what a keeper's experience means for players who aren't in the defence. It's also unlikely that he will not be playing, nor is Rico playing going to take any experience out of the side at the expense of Sels or Milenkovic.

I would much rather see us bring in Tsimikas, who is more experienced in the PL, because he is left footed.

Pep talks in riddles. We should test City out with a substantial bid. They will sell out on Lewis if the money is good enough.
Don't think we can afford the kind of numbers City would look at. This one isn't going to happen.

So if some imagined things happen, youll be correct that we need more experience or if some other imagined things dont happen, youll be right also ?

Im not sure Tsimikas is the answer to both your situations, unless he plays for 90 mins ( Wood). Never starts on the bench ( Yates). If we dont count two years PL experience with us ( Aina). Will have experience that only affects those near him ( Sels) .
Cant even make sense of the Sels/Milenkovic point .
