On a few other outlets now, would be some signing. However not sure city will sell especially for that kind of money.

Although pep never stands in the way or players wanting to leave but that’s only if he fancied it, which I doubt currently.

I thought he was a real weak link for City last season but he was mostly asked to play the Rodri role when he is small & a fullback

But that doesn’t take away that he is an extremely talented player. 20 years old with almost 100 games for Man City & 5 England caps, can play anywhere - if there is even a slight chance City are floating selling we should be lunging at it with both feet

What is his actual preferred position? Feels like I've seen him play all over the place and while more than held his own at the top level, never seemed to stand out. Not easy I guess with the company at Man City. 30mil Euros would be a decent deal.

This seems like a great option on paper.

He can play on either side so it would go a long way towards solving the lack of depth at fullback.

He’d be a great addition. Don’t like the idea of paying a lot for a RB, given Aina’s form last season, but he’s so versatile he’d add depth at RB, LB, across midfield.

Can’t see them selling at that price, maybe it’s just outlets getting confused messages about McAtee given the similar fee suggested

He came through as a right back but Pep has literally just played him everywhere.

Even when he played right back he drifted into midfield.

Man City forum divided on the lad (as is every player by every set of fans everywhere), seems that Pep has him playing right back alot recently and most agree that's not really his position. Obvious talent and love for the club mean many really like him and want to see him develop but as others say he won't get the chance when Pep can just buy in a player who doesn't need time and development.

They like his close control and vision but they cite his lack of pace, apparent physical frailty (he's only around 5 foot 6 apparently!!) and his lack of consistency. Can look great when they are on top and coasting but not when under pressure and he can be dominated easily. Not a starter in their galactico side and more of a utility player/benchwarmer for now.

Not being that familiar with every Man City player I intially confused him with Nico O'Reilly .... now there's a player...

Scored a great goal right in front of us at Wembley, the little shit.

He'd be a pretty much perfect squad depth addition, given he's a PL-quality full back and midfielder. You'd imagine we'd have to sell him a different line though, along the lines of "we see you as a starting [x]", whether that be CM, RB etc.

£30m would be a snip really given his age, experience and versatility.

So City fans don’t think RB is his position and he looked a weak link in CM…so where are we buying him to play?

30m is a lot but if we see him as cover to Nico / Aina and DM it’s a decent deal for a young player that can cover a lot of positions, arguably ending up a better deal than buying 3 players.

I’d question if he would come here to sit on the bench though as that is what he would do

I assume he will be sold the right back position as one for him. As Aina will be going to AFCON he's almost guaranteed starting game time to make the position his, if he can.

Sauce salad?
You see I read the link, was all in yes, read some of the comments and didn't recognise the player described... Small? Weak??

I now realise I'm confusing him with Nico O'Reilly!

So I'm not sure on Lewis, as haven't seen half as much of him... Played alright against us in the cup, has a lot of top level games under his belt as a 20yr old and appears veraitile.

Haven't watched closely enough to know his best position or how far he'll go though you'd assume higher given his age.

Quite like that we appear to be targeting the England team in four years time. Not a bad strategy alongside cheaper Brazilians.

But yeah, can't we have O'Reilly?!
