Rest or Go For It ?

Another 6 to 7 points and we will qualify for the play off's even if we lose all the remaining games after that point.

What would you do ?

The moment you qualify for the play off's would you rest most of the 1st team under "bout of flu" or "injury" excuses and freshen them up for the play off's ?

Or would you keep going for it and try to catch the 2nd place position, even if it means more bookings (possible suspension) and more tired players come the play off's ?

All being well we can rest easy sooner than anyone else, allowing us to have the freshest players for the play off's ? Tempting ?

If I were a strategist I would try to sign Raddy permanent this week (remove him from loan status) and then loan in 4 or 5 players.

In the last games of the season you play most of the loan players allowing others to rest, and then play hopefully a full strength side in the play off's if the charge for 2nd place fails with the help of loan players.

I reckon as we speak now that McKenna is really being rested more so than injured and will be ready to come back in for the final few games and then play off's if that is what happens.

10 points will mathematically guarantee us a play-off place and with 4 winnable home games, it's 99.99% certain we will be in the top 6.

However we need to keep going, we need to build momentum and confidence going into the play-offs.

Personally I think 3 points will now be enough. 7th placed Sheff Utd would then need to obtain at least 17 points from 8 games to overturn us.

Secondly, no, we should go for it until its Mathematically impossible. I don't think it'll matter too much anyway as I imagine this scenario will happen with two or three games remaining which is plenty enough time for a 'rest.'

Can we "removed his loan status" as he is technically on loan until the end of the season? I am under the impression that we can't sign him as a permanent player and play him until the season is done. So therefore even if he does sign he will still be playing under his loan status .

Hope that makes sense!!

I think what you just said is right.

We can sign him at any time, but the transfer won't be registered until the end of the season.

I think it depends on the player individually, I would imagine the majority view is that we change the side as little as possible to maintain consistency and as previously said get a bit of momentum going into the play-offs. However if we are unable to catch WBA in the last 2 games then I wouldn't mind us resting the likes of Majewski, Anderson and Blackstock.

It's also important to give McGugan, McGoldrick, Garner, Adebola ect some form, going into the Play-Offs as they would be more useful having some games under their belt and a bit of form rather than becoming stale and having no affect as a sub or replacing a player through injury/suspension.

Hmmmmm quite a conundrum.

I was tempted to say 'Go for it' as I believe we should play every game to win and win well.

However, if it's the playoffs for us (likely now) and doing so only means the difference between 3rd place and 6th place then we could risk go into the playoffs at a distinct disadvantage of knackeredness.

The ideal scenario would be to bring some new blood into the squad before Thursday to mix it about a bit and rest a few to ensure our top eleven are all fighting fit by middle May.

We also have 5 more games before the 11th April cut off date for 10 yellows = suspension.

Raddy and Gunter on 8 cards each, Cohen on 7.

Can Raddy and Gunter get through 5 games without getting 2 yellow cards ?

Certainly Raddy needs to be rested as he is basically getting a yellow card every game now.

Anderson is definetly running on empty now in my view. He runs but falls over then and is looking worn out.

McClearly looked sharp, would it worth starting the next few games with McCleary and Boyd on the wings and resting Anderson for a few games ?

McKenna was running on empty, hopefully he will be back for the last 3 or 4 games and fresh and raring to go.

Certainly I would like to see a few loan signings coming in and the 1st team players taking a rest now.

Can we get some Premiership loan players this week, I would say any position would be good, just to allow others to rest.

I really don't think McKenna will play again this season. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if he isn't fit for the start of next season either.

He was involved in the play-offs no less than four times at Preston and the experience from that situation would have been invaluable.

The only other members of the squad who have play-off experience at this level are Camp and Adebola.

i think raddy really needs to calm down as i think he was lucky not to get sent off at the weekend with two easily bookable tackles, he just seems to fly in with studs up and doesn't seem to care, but at least he's trying though.

Unsure, I think Billy might be playing a little game here.

I expect a fully rested and fit McKenna to make a surprise return in the last few games and be ready for the play off's.

All part of Billy's secret plan ?

all i know is when he was injured I got told at half time by an "inside employee" that he was fooked now..nothing surprises me with king billy but..i think this is genuine, a bad injury and yes possibly unlikely to make the start of next season.... in the premiership I add

That's been my thoughts as well. He has done it many times this season already

Look at the points gap we made up on Doncaster and Carlisle with less games to go. WBA aren't promoted yet. Beside we are always brilliant for the last 8 games of the season.
