Reserves

So Perch and a few others are playing in a reserve game. We seem to have a lot of these now. It does make you wonder about the reserve team proper getting scrapped. What was the point if we play so many friendlies?

Maybe it was just so BD could have them only when he needed them. Maybe he thought our squad was too weak to play regular reserve games?

Also, how long could it take Perch to get back to CCC level after such a long lay off?

"The Forest line-up for tomorrow's game is also expected to include Paul Smith, Luke Chambers, Lewis McGugan and Joel Lynch. "

EDIT: Its a game against Swansea, so probably quite tough!

I think they are only organised when first teamers are lacking match practice.

Billy did say he is looking to get young lads out on loan to lower league teams.

It's a more competative brand of football than playing Shrewsbury and Bradford reserves every other week.

I think it's a great idea to be honest, like others have said it is much better than playing a friendly at Macclesfield! Our kids are much better off a the likes of Lincoln and Notts than they are in the reserves.

You can't make the opposition put out a strong team and there is nothing to play for.

You can't in the reserve league either...

But it is a league and some competitiveness must be there between the teams, more so than a friendly.

Not in the reserve games I've ever watched.

The billy method.

:)

How about his massive u turns?

lynch just slotted away a penalty. would love to see him back saturday. on his day he is a quality and strong player for us!

Who would have thought Lynch would be the designated penalty taker from that line-up?

Can't see him playing at left back this weekend!

Obviously, Paul Smith is to blame here.

He didn't even go for the ball for their first, he jumped in slow motion for the second and the third shown his constant indecision (stay - go for the ball - **** it let 'em score)
