Just to put the record straight boys, done abit of study and come up with this for our starting 11s
Forest first team total apps this season 240---Derbys 246. (Some reserve side that is.)
Forest first team total apps over career 2045--Derbys 2099. (Massive difference NOT)
Forest first team average age 24.9----Derbys 26.8.( Erm younger legs, should be fitter? Obviously not.)

Hope this stops all the excuses for your defeat. :nowink:

You've obviously got no mates to go out and have a drink with to celebrate your win last night have you. To be honest though I thought we have more gloating sheepshaggers on here...seems like most of them have got some braincells to rub together after all. :nowink:

Our starting 11 is certainly experienced enough to have coped with last night, but our bench was just plucked from a local youth club. Without any decent back up your always going to struggle in games like last night, we needed someone on the bench who could come on just after you equalised to try and change the game but witn no one experienced for that we were always going to struggle.

He has a point.

But the argument falls down when you look at 1. Our subs and 2. Our strikers, or lack of.

Maybe if you looked at the whole squads it would tell a different story. About 3 first team appearances between them. Perch went off hospitalised and Tyson with a hamstring. It was blantantly obvious which way it was going. Our injuuries meant that we had a centre half and a striker with 2 first team games playing the last 10/15 mins.

So, yes, there is an excuse. However, you were the better team even if you weren't ravaged with injuries and suspensions. Also as much at it pains me to say it, Commons was the difference between the teams. No one on the pitch had as much pure quality as him. Im not sure there was anyone in the ground that didn't think he was going to score.

But we shall see you in a few weeks with Robbie, Garner and Tsyon all waiting for you.

How about producing some statistics for all your defeats last season ? They could then be used to back up all of the excuses you were making. :D

It's an interesting take on the situation, however we also lost Perch & Tyson, and gained Newbold and Byrne with about 1.3 appearances between them!

Clearly we fielded an extremely understrength side, but still nearly took it to extra time. And you'd be f*** all without Commons.

These are the facts my good Ram. And if you're looking for a few more we're above you in the league, we've won more trophies than you and Derby is a shithole.

Erm, I'd guess that about half of those 2000 odd games, maybe more, are not at Championship level, where as Derby's are a mixture of Prem/Championship?

Chambers, Cohen, Tyson (I think he played a bunch of games for Reading ages ago?), Thornhill, McLeary (the guy from non league), McGugan etc have played about 30 Championship level games each!

Savage, Hulse(?), Albretschen and whoever, they'ved played Premiership football, where as out of our team, Smith has and he's just a rubbish keeper.

That's actually quite interesting.

Did you have Andy Cole included in that Forest squad?

Just curious because we keep being told we have the youngest squad in the Championship by everyone.

Didn't use the squad, just the 11 that started.
Ah. That includes Brekin, who at 76 years old and 3472 appearances somewhat weights the figures.

You should include the benches as well because that is relevant.

With all due respect, because our players have played more in the prem/champ than yours dosen't mean they are more experience, just better.
By your theory Hulse (275 apps) is more experienced than Brekin (556 apps) yep 556, because he's played 44 times in the prem. Dont stand up under scrutiny.

Not really, your 3 were on for 35mins combined, hardly time to make a difference i'm afraid.

Er, that wasn't my theory at all.

Surely you can understand that say 200 games at a Prem/Champ level is both better and more experience at that level than 200 games at League 1 level

I'm not saying that total number of games = more experienced, as you've suggested. In fact, that is what YOU said originally, by comparing number of games each team has played in total, without considering what leagues those games were played in!

Given that one of them by all accounts froze and miss an easy chance to make it 3-3 then I'd say it was highly relevant. Besides, if we had had some proper players on the bench instead of kids then they may have been bought on to change things earlier.

I reckon you looked at it and realised it made your argument weak so are using an excuse.

:)

Fail to see where my argument falls down actually. Both teams played with 1 up front and 1 off the main Striker. Tyson stayed on 4mins LONGER than Hulse. We both brought on another striker and i dont think even you boys would class Commons as a striker, just like Cohen. So again your theory falls flat. I understand you're looking for excuses as to why we came to yours, gave you a 2 goal start and still beat yer, but in your position, so would i.
Also didn't you have those 3 strikers when you came to ours in the league when your ref and keeper saved you from a proper drubbing?

Funny how people remember the young lads miss at the end but fail to mention Commons hitting the post. Level playing field please guys.

And you forget McLeary's one on one miss, you clearing off the line from a header from a corner and Morgan's missed header at the end.

We had 4 glorious chances just in the second half, two either side of Commons' goal!
