If we're in the Premiership then yeah, that's fine. The reason they disbanded in the first place is because the level of opposition was awful.

I've expressed this before, but, in my humble opinion, a lack of regular reserve team footballers has hindered our fringe players this year. I can't think of one occasion this season where a player who hasn't been involved most weeks has come into the first-team and made an immediate impact, in fact it's been exactly the opposite and has, largely resulted in us having to play the same starting 11 most weeks. The only exception to this has been injuries and then it's taken the replacements many weeks to get up to the same level of sharpness as their contemporaries.

I'd guess that we've played as many, if not more 'reserve' games this year than we did when we were in the Pontings league. It's just that they aren't announced and they're played at the academy.

I don't think it's hindered too many players, but it hasn't helped either.
Lewis has come on and changed the game a couple of times, as has McGoldrick. Chambo has performed well when bought on and Tyson also.

Reading are also disbanding their reserve side next season but that is more of a cost-saving exercise.

With the success of the acadamy sides and a number of them being offered contracts, + the need to increase the size of the first team squad, where else will the get a game?
