I think were in one.

goodbye.

Does that mean we're not in one now then?

I'm surprised anybody still takes Van Hooijdonk seriously.

Nah not for us, we were better than Burnley yesterday, and we'd have won but for a couple of dodgy decisions, and a bit of dodgy finishing :).

This.  We're now due a bit of luck and like last season, when I said exactly the same thing, it will come.

Hoepfully Tyson will find his shooting boots soon too.

Personally, I've always said any position above the relegation zone would be great for this season and I maintain that.  There's going to be a lot of games that can go either way.  Hopefully on Wednesday we'll (for once) get a dodgy penalty decision and win by the odd goal.

Very true. However, we do have some that think we are worse than we actually are.

This season was always going to be hard work. Teams will bully us whenever they can. Any finish outside the bottom 4 will provide a platform for next season.

Those who were blithely predicting promotion/playoffs should now have realised that this will be a damn sight harder than just turning up with Moussi, Morgan and Earnshaw in the team.

We are going to concede a lot of goals this season - hopefully Earnshaw can lead an attack that will score enough to get us enough wins to be comfortable.

This doesn't beat the caller I heard on Radio Lancs coming back from Blackpool the other week.

As a Burnley fan he called up and demanded the sacking of their manager because "things weren't working".
This was after the first game of the season.

However, this is definitely what you class as "going early" in your predictions!!

PS - what were Burnley like? Let me guess, big, cynical and launching it route one??

Right now we're only 3 points off the play off places. Although with an inferior goal difference, so I suppose it's 4 really.

Correctomundo. Still very early doors, and for us to win one game and go up half the table suggests no need to panic whatsoever

They were cynical but I wouldn't say they were 'route one'. I thought they played some nice football on the break at times.

We were the team that reverted to the aimless hoof too often.

It's too early but be panicking but Calderwood must address our full back problems and put them right otherwise we will be facing a long hard winter. On the positive side, there are already 2 slots filled as Southampton and Plymouth are piss poor!
Half right, think Charlton were mid-table at this point

Whilst I believe there are 3 teams worse than us in the league and we won't go down, finishing anywhere above 17th would suprise me.

40 games later I now predict we'll finish 18th. 8)
