I hope someone reminds them that whatever happens, we aint getting a 50k stadium. It'll be about 38k after the world cup for us. To be honest if we went up we'd probably only fill that for half the games which would be fine.
It's not like we have crowds like Bristol or Plymouth is it.

hah. Couldn't care really because that is all that they can boast that is better than us, their average attendances. We have:

Better results.
Better team.
Better manager.
Better finances.
Better chairman.

and of course

Better league position.

So, let them harp on about the attendances. A couple of seasons down in the doldrums we'll soon see if they can keep the level of attendance up and if they only have so many because of giveaways. They can't do them forever.

Blimey, what a waste of time and effort!

Let them whinge, it won't change anything :)

To be honest, the forest guys on there aren't making a very good argument of it. Try mentioning that we are a better team, are 3rd in the league and are unbeaten in 14 games, rather than calling their fans gay and going on about whether or not they've had sex before. Geez

Forest's current merits are a complete irrelevance to the issue anyway.

The bid was based on the merits of the three cities (I say cities, we all know the other two only got that status because the Queen went a bit senile for a bit).

Two small ill-known conurbations with limited appeal and extendable flatpack stadiums versus an internationally renowned destination with a proposed purpose-built ground to meet the standards required. Even considering the complications surrounding planning permission and council arguments, it is quite easy to see perhaps not so much why they picked our bid - but why they didn't pick theirs.

They can still drop three of the shortlisted cities so if it goes tits up in Nottingham it won't really matter - they already said they wouldn't entertain Leicester as backup, presumably the same goes for Derby - if Nottingham's proposal falters so does the chance of the East Midlands hosting a game.

Of course, if England don't get the World Cup all this pointless tubthumping will be been completely in vain.

Lets face it if it was a Harry Potter film Lesda and Direby would have been in Hufflepuff.

The sorting hat looked deep into their souls and what it saw evidently didn't impress.*
