Raised Bid for Mckenna could do the job

only striker Dele Adebola snapped up on a free transfer from Bristol City.

I hope that's not true.

Are they sure he's 31? He looks like David Bowie here.

If you've actually seen this guy play, he's actually a very good footballer and something that Forest have needed for a while. I take it by the comment above your just going on the fact he's 31?

While he's a good player though, 1m for a bloke who's approaching 32........pretty steap to me!

I take it from what I've read of him on here is that he does all the simple stuff well in midfield.

This has been something that Forest have been missing since as long as I can remember.

You need someone who can just get the ball in midfield and play it simple e.g Savage for Derby did it extremely well against us.

Yep and something that Perch cannot do at all.

You need a midfielder who actually plays in midfield , not a midfielder who hides behind the 2 center backs and plays alongside them.

Pretty much spot on.

Neil Lennon was not that bad. It didn't end well because of his charactor but when he was on the pitch he kept us ticking over and covered well for others allowing the more mobile players to attack. He was well past his best but we were in league 1 at the time. He probably helped to sell a lot of season tickets that summer.

His departure has left people with a more negative view of him.

Completely agree, his legs had gone by the time he joined us but he still had that bit of extra quality which we needed at the time. Had we signed him a season earlier there is no way we would have fallen apart in that second leg against Yeovil.

Oh yes, if we'd had Neil Lennon on the pitch, it would have meant Prutton didn't get sent off and would have stopped Wes doing a stupid back pass! Have a word!

We fell to pieces because we didn't have enough leaders with the experience to see out a game. Partly that is down to Calderwood. Davies has shown the team how to see a game out.

This guy is proven quality at this level.. the perfect player to give freedom to the likes of Lewis etc. For those that say otherwise - dont be fools and behave yourselves.

He makes the game flow and dictates the game by controlling the pace.

Oh and Paul Anderson is on his way. He's all loved up with a Nottm girl, Martinez won't guarantee 1st team football and we have agreed terms with Liverpool for a permanent deal.

Its all gonna happen. Someone summed it all up perfectly in another thread when they said no news is good news. Most of our main targets are not being linked with other clubs, which is a good sign and suggests deals are in place with a few. This last statement is just a hunch mind.

I'd gladly have another Neil Lennon in the side.

It's Baggio

John Robertson
Lennon had undoubted quality but he couldn't hack the pace at L1, that'd be shown up even more in the CCC.

Besides, McKenna is 4/5 years younger than Lennon was and was a regular at PNE last season. No sign of his legs going at all.

Exactly. I seriously hope we sign McKenna. As others have said, his presence will allow Lewis and Cohen to really shine next season

My view of Neil Lennon was not a good player/footballer at all, rather a lucky player, for someone to be deemed a good player for doing NOTHING more than floating around in fromt of the back four is ludicrous to me, he would always pass the ball sideways and backwards, would never look to get into space to recieve the ball back off his full backs or centre halves that hed just given the ball too, instead would always strecth out an arm towards the goalkeeper or an out-stretched arm upfield, was never an influence in any game of football i saw him in, oh and he's ginger, theres only been one decent ginger.

I thought he was mint every time he played. Legs or no legs, he ran the show at walking pace and I don't know what Colin got rid.
